Could 2012 hype actually lead to the end of the world?

If 2012 is not real and its all made up bull crap could all this fear about the date actually cause world wide disaster and total anarchy? Something will happen on the date, if the world is destroyed by something out of our control or if the the world is destroyed by mobs of people thinking that the world will end.

I'm very unsure about where to place myself on the 2012 issue. Some things point to it yes, and then some of it seems so ridiculous and people try to link every single disaster/conspiracy to 2012.

Just a thought.

Mobs will end the world? Is that a possibility?

Define: End of The World

Then let's go from there.

Our 'thoughts' are what creates our reality, really. And if everyone has a negative attitude, you can sure bet that all hell will break loose. Unlikely the end of the world, maybe some Mad Max stuff here and there.

It would be fun if you survived it all.

Well lots of ppl on here seem to believe it. Some may prepare themselves for the end in different ways. Terrorists may pick that date to do some damage, yes mobs and looting will happen from the drunkenness of the Dec 20, 2012 parties the night before. A bunch of stuff could happen, just look at all the people who followed Harold Camping. Imagine that times 100 and in a violent state of mind! At least his idea was peaceful, people were just waiting to be raptured But if people expect the end in a violent way, it could spell disaster.

It is something that at least I have discussed with my group of friends here in the real world, the idea that the "herd" can get whipped up into a "stampede" is not out of the realm of possibility. Add in religious zealots, paranoia, engineered racial tension and a media keeping it all well focused, yeah we could tear ourselves apart.
One itchy General or crazed snake eating zealot with a sizable body of followers and munitions in a large enough display of both, you could spark a domino effect, terror runs like fire when it catches.
The main thing is don't live in fear yourself and others may follow that lead. Communication and level heads are all that will rule that tipping point, I shall strive to be one of them. I like people.

Or people on YouTube that have no life and too much time on their hands. The Nibiru end of the world is real I suppose....

If there is a fire, figuratively or literally, I'd bet the 2012 hype will certainly become fuel for the mix.
I kind of think even if the 2012 thing is hype, there may be those in power, as in protest group infiltrators that start violence, that encourage some madness for a lockdown control effort.

A more likely scenario is the Global Economic Collapse which would undoubtedly lead to revolution and the West becomes more like what we see in Syria and Saudi Arabia (protesters getting gunned down).

I dont think there will be a collapse, maybe just in some societies but not in the whole world, since not everyone is aware of 2012 predictions, they would continue living the same way they live.

I think it IS leading to a change of views on the planet. People are starting to act like it's only a short time left. They are demanding more freedoms every day all around the world. The world may not end in 2012, or it may, but the people of this planet are fed up with how things are, and maybe thinking it's too short of time left to put up with it.

I was thinking the same thing. If the law of attraction is true then we very well could bring about a disaster. If enough energy is put into the thought form and enough emotion is put into it then yes.
