This much is plausible. The rest doesn't pass the sniff test. Having sound intelligence that Osama is in a given region and monitoring that region without tipping our hand, would make sense. Knowing his exact location and just biding our time for political expediency is not plausible. The capture of Osama would be so big that it would completely overshadow any flip-flop, no matter how astonishing, Kerry could possibly make in the next 2.5 months.

Osama cannot hide forever.

If they had no clue whatsoever where he is, would it look good if they admit that they had no clue? No. If I were them, I would give an impression that I was on track and will get him soon. Got the situation under control.

How long can he hide on a nuclear sub? Forever? Maybe 50 years? It�s a big world...
He might just wait for the right moment to surface, knowing that time is on his side.

How about this.They have had him in thier sights for quite some time but just keep an eye on him.Why?If they pop him early then one of those who are capable take over and on and on goes the fight.But if they just babysit and go after all the possible successors till they know Al queda can't regroup under someone else then .....pop goes the laden. I think Aq has way more sheep than shepherds.

While the though of him being captured and waiting to tell the public is an interesting idea, I don�t think it�s true. By now someone would have leaked something about it.

I personally tend to believe that he is dead or still hiding in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region. Let�s face it, not everybody in the world wants us to find him. It�s also possible that we have an eye on him right now so we can take out the bulk of his network before we bring him in to prevent someone else from coming come to power.

However, with the Intelligence Community scouring the planet for him and still nothing, it seems more plausible to me that he is dead. It is hard for someone who enjoys the finer things in life to just fall off the face of the earth with the majority of the western world looking for him. I doubt that our intelligence knows as much yet, but after three years without anything I think someone would have to start considering it. Maybe the only way for him to stay alive for Al Qaeda�s purposes was for him to die somewhere in desert where he would never be found.

Iran does not have a nuclear sub, but the do have several old diesel ones. I'm willing to bet that the navy knows where all of Irans subs are though.

I would probably guess that if by the strangest chance he was on a sub and still on the run somewhere in the the oceans the authorities would grip him asap. Having him in a desert and keeping a secret eye on him is a lot more plausible then letting the maniac sail loose around the world on a sub.

I think, this animal is quite close to be caught, but the US doesn't take the chance. It was much harder to catch saddam, than osama.

Yeah but i think the only reason that Saddam was caught was that the effort was immense to capture him. I think that was supposed to be a little gift from bush to his daddy. Pathetic i know but this man bush is so dangerous. If i was from another planet and just stopped by for the day to take a look at planet earth and its inhabitants i would probably think that bush was the biggest terroist going. His priorities are wrong i mean why go after Saddam its Osama who supposedly caused 9/11 there seems no answer to invading iraq although i agree Saddam needed taking from his position but where are the wmds? there is none isnt that why we went to war. I have a lot of friends in both the US and british forces including 2 brothers and i too fought in the first gulf war but for whom did i fight? Well the feeling i got and the feeling the US/British troops get is that its all for Bush and Daddy Bush. F*** Saddam. Where is Osama Bloody Bin Lid thats what i want to know.

has anyone considered that maybe we know exactly where he is and are not capturing him for a reason. before you call me crazy, hear me out. if we know where he is, we can monitor him very easily. perhaps this is how we get so much of the intelligence we get. he could be telling us his every move and not even know it.

He will show up one day soon however i feel it will be a little like pol pot or whatever his correct name was. next time we see Osama he will be dead.

I suppose not, it would be nice to see him pulled out of a hole like Saddam was though. Infact Saddam has been defiant even in captivity protesting what he done as correct however i would be interested to hear what Osama has to say about all he is being blamed for but if he's just dead then fair enough.
