As always, if they got it legally, you have to shut up and accept they are better than you.

Until you can prove they did something illegal, they are no different than anyone else and their money is rightfully theirs.

And yes, most millionaires did get it legally.

i am sorry but this thread is a joke

half this country does not pay any taxes whatsoever and all those people who are screaming bloody murder tax the millionaires and billions more

get a clue there are around 9 million of them and and guess what there are over 3 trillion tax cuts that go to the middle class.

and take more from people just because they have more and the biggest load of crap in this thread is those people who are sticking their hands in other peoples wallets will turn around and say oh hell no you dont take my money.

and where does your money come from? all those evil rich folks.

you want to know what a country with no rich folk looks like? look at the former soviet union and north korea,.

do you people believe in the us constitution or do you all just pick and choose what parts matter and the ones that dont.

i am so sick of this fascist classwarfare stupidty because it is.

you people are hating on the wrong people misguided misdirected where it should be focused on the us federal government and the united states federal reserve.

$1,000 in 1913 would be equivalent to over $22,000 dollars today
$1,000 in 1950 would be equivlanet to over $9,000 dollars today

the terms millionaires and billionaires that people just love to hate on today would be considered to be middle class the value of the dollar doesnt buy what it use to and has lost its meaning.

but hey dont listen to reason act like the good little nazis and keep pushing and destroying wealth out of this country

and then what? who are you going to be hating on next?

First they came for the corporations, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not aCorporation.

Then they came for the banks, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a banks.

Then they came for the rich, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a rich

and then there was nothing but poor people without a clue as to how they got there.

In Australia economists and the people laugh at the idiocy and greed of the Americans. While we have a very effective proggresive tax system (no one pays any tax on the first $18,000 they make and the tax slowly increases in tiers) that enables us to have an effective public health care system, a government which provided a usefull stimulus package which along with our mining industry averted the worst of the Global Financial Crisis (what most Americans call a recession as they really don't care about anything happening outside of their country) for us. During the recession we didn't even enter recession (two consecutive quatres of negative growth) and while the government did run a budget deficit during the recession (GFC) the economic forecast untill recently (seeing you guys can't solve your debt problem) has been that we would return to surplus by 2013. Our old are taken care of, our poor have adequete housing and access to the basic necessities, our sick aren't left to die. While you in America tend to blame the old, poor and sick for their own problems and feel you have no responsibility to take care of them.

I love American ideals and principles. In fact I am here on most occasions defending the ideals you hold so dear and wishing that the constitution be adhered to. However, I do despise American greed and ignorance. While the poor carry the burden of the finances the rich live a luxurious life which they are either born into and on most occasions have obtained such wealth in nefarious and disgusting ways. Yet many still say DON'T TAX THE RICH. What a joke, look beyond your own shores and realise that most of the world is laughing at you. I am saying this sincerely because at the bottom of my heart I love the Republic.

@neo96, do you know what a country with rich folks and a progressive tax system looks like. Have a look at Norway and Australia. We are ranked the top two best countries to live in- in the world. To add corporate tax has a flat rate, only personal income tax has a progressive rate of tax in Australia.

It took them long enough to figure out the game is fixed and cards are stacked. If people actually knew what the system actually is and what for, they will cry tears of scarlet. Anyways no news here, what did you people actually expect them to play fair or not use there influence that the sheeple give them to reap as much as they can at the expense of the sheeple, all the while there paid minions are telling you, that's not pee running down you backs its rain.

Poor suckers they will believe anything, if they actually believed that the game is not fixed.

I think it's best to emphasize that it's not really the top 1%, but the super rich people out there who are not paying taxes, hiring lobbyists, etc..that are the problem.

My parents opted out of college, worked # jobs and endless hours, but finally broke out of the rat race. They now run companies and are in the top 1-2%...and they are not to blame.

This is propaganda saying it's the top 1%. more like the top .01%

I'm sure Bill Gates pays more in taxes in one year than you will in your entire lifetime yet receives no more benefits from the State than you do.

Is that fair?

He should at least get a statue of him placed somewhere.

Oh yes him and his contributions to those who have less, pretty much all of them are just tax loopholes and all the money he will pay in taxes will come back to him and his friends. Really paying taxes is for the poor only, they all have loop holes to gimp the system in one way or another.

So you want a society where everybody is exactly even? Like communism?

I believe the system you seek currently exists in China and you can probably get a flight there tonight if you hurry.

Because somebody, God forbid, earns more than you they shouldn't have to give their money away till you both are equal.

Wow dude your as dum as stick, really you don't know jack about jack. Who is saying that earning more is evil but your idiotic ass. And you don't know squat about what China is about and for that matter what communism is or even what capitalism is.

So here it is so you would get it finally, I mean I know its you purpuse to say idiotic things about this on this board but really get a new script. So here it is! There has never in the history of the entire world been such a thing as a even society, and no there not all "even" in china with there communism, infact america is still one of the places the populous is kind of even.

But as you can see "even" that is not even.

The bleak truth is that none of this will ever change, unless something not human, AI, gods, aliens, interferes or intervenes in the system and creates a new system.

I would not count on the gods or aliens for help, in-fact you can say this system was originated by outside forces in the first place, of which those you call elites are just puppets chosen because there the stupidest and most easily controlled among you. And if you don't believe me find some of them and put them to the test, or even just ask them some questions when there teleprompter is off, and you will see the extent of there brightness.

Without the show and the machine making them look like gods among men, they really are sub par bellow average in intelligence and pretty much everything else. And so the show must go on.

It really is as above and so bellow, and like any good top of the pyramid boss, you do not want somebody smarter then you bellow you, because eventually they will displace you and your spot on the top of the pyramid.

Anyways the thing is if you all do not fix it, then no one will.

Yup. Here's another link for you:

World's richest 1% own 40% of all wealth, UN report discovers

But if any of us so much as speak out against this absurd inequality - out come the Tea Party robots to start screaming pre-programmed nonsense about communism and wealth redistribution.

Let's see here - the top 1% of the world's population owns 40% of it's wealth...and wealth redistribution is a bad thing?

I think you will find that the wealth disparity is even greater in third world and communist nations, both presently and historically than in the Western world.

Fact is capitalism = 'poor people' having Ipads.
Communism, feudalism, tribalism = poor people get nothing.

My response is ants. Its just one example of a multitude around the world, showing that all life on this planet preys on other life.

Ants are one of the most complex creatures in terms of behavior on the planet. They build cities, fight wars with other ants, they capture prisoners who they work as slaves until they die. They capture other insects as livestock and force them to provide nourishment for the ants. They exploit and farm fungus as nourishment. They exploit and damage the environment in the construction of their cities. They are also preyed upon by parasites that turn them into essentially zombies, forcing them to be eaten in order to continue the lifecycle of the parasite.

And so it really is as above so bellow, humans are like ants which some parasites prey upon forcing them to be eaten in order to continue the lifecycle of the parasite.

All life on this world preys on other life, whether it be the trillions of microparasites such as bacteria, macroparasites, such as fungus, they depend on lifeforms greater than them to survive, or predators that prey upon vegetation or animals. Plants are lifeforms and they are exploited by most animals on this planet. Nature is not balanced or harmonious. It is filled with disasters, extinctions, violence and savagery.

Oh but that's the thing nature is balanced and harmonious, and disasters, extinctions, violence and savagery, are just among a couple of the ways that nature keeps the balance going. Nature does not distinguish between good, or bad, god or mortal, this or that, and does not care at all who or what you are, were all equally inferior as far as its concerned, and eventually no matter who or what you are.

Your time will come to be balanced, oh yes something is going on this very moment on this planet, everything is being balanced as we speak.

The sum of all miseries in the World are the end result of the over valuation people put on "things"
~Benjamin Franklin.

This "wealth" is fake paper money and digital numbers. It is We whom allow others to determine our fate by not controlling the economic system by which we live by and operate. No type of economy is perfect, but allowing Bankers to determine the strength of our currency, more importantly, to control what we call currency..That is allowing Tyranny and we must defend against this at all costs. I am ill to the heart when I hear talking heads of the day talking about how the bank bailout was a success....We have made ourselves completely dependent on banks to decide whether we live or die.

Your comments cater to the wealthy as if they're all innocent, not exploitative; and that saying anything in opposition to their insatiable hording makes you a proponent for communism. You do realize it's the most wealthy that manipulate our system to benefit them and them only? And that not only are they working toward the pinnacle in inequality by putting a little portion of their earnings into the ocean of politics, but they're the most viable candidates for the adage "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely". Money in this day and age is equal to power, and via this very power comes the influence of the cycle of exploitation for personal gain.

Are ALL wealthy corrupt and amoral? No. But to say it's communism that we'd wish higher taxes for the filthy rich is insane. NOBODY needs or deserves billions of dollars, most of which will be transferred to off-shore accounts that don't get taxed at all anyway! So many loopholes, so much corruption, so much inequality; yet you're saying it's absurd that those living in complete and utter luxury/position of power --- God forbid--- should have to part with a little higher percentage of their income than the poor. Are you saying that a billionaire who gets taxed higher and is still living in a palace by the beach, with a harem and a basin of coke/ecstasy; is somehow deprived of his RIGHT to exploit the financial system no matter how disproportional?

Kro, you're a defender of the elites.

Envy politics and coveting they neighbors goods are heavy hitters in the deeper-than-mind virus. Consumption taxation vs. income taxation will cause that money to get back into circulation. If someone is already in possession of funds, changing INCOME taxes doesn't reach it. But everyone has to eat, buy stuff, live somewhere that needs new stuff. The rich will always be in favor of more income taxes that way the little people will never get up to the level of being their neighbors.

On a lighter note...

Ever wonder how wealthy people live? …Reality TV aside, we don't really know much. It's a different planet. But here are a few quick peeks.

Lifestyles of the Rich and Stupid

- Newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst - the inspiration for Citizen Kane - built an enormous castle in California. The estate features 56 bedrooms, 41 fireplaces, 61 bathrooms, and 19 sitting rooms. The buildings total more than 90,000 square feet. [Take the online tour!]

- Dennis Kozlowski, former CEO of Tyco, received widespread attention for his decadent lifestyle, which he funded in part from the coffers of the company he ran. For his wife’s 40th birthday, Kozlowski staged an extravagant $2 million party on the Italian island of Sardinia. The party featured a ice-sculpture of the Statue of David that pissed vodka. He charged the company half the bill for this orgy. Here’s a CBS News report on him:

…Real wealth isn’t about earning money - it’s about keeping money.

Check out this slide show from Forbes: Homes of the Billionaires.

And definitely read this article:

The Wealthy Live Without Government

…Wealthy people and corporations don’t use state facilities of any kind when they can avoid them. The wealthy, including those in charge of inflicting government programs on the rest of us, use private services for themselves:

First and most important, the wealthy send their children to private schools. …

The wealthy don’t get felt up by TSA or blasted with x-rays; they use private aircraft. Because of course private jets [or private suborbital rockets] could never be loaded with explosives and used to take down a skyscraper… errr, um….

The wealthy don’t depend on government police. They have bodyguards and private security for their homes. Private guards, of course, enforce private law…

The wealthy may claim to be for gun control, but their guards are their weapons… and their guards are armed. Even when they go overseas in government service, the wealthy are protected by Xe ("the company formerly known as Blackwater") or some other mercenary group.

The wealthy don’t depend on government health services. They don’t go on two-year waiting lists for treatments or transplant organs. They just fly to wherever the medical services are available. …

Humans by nature are exploitive, competitive, and aggressive bleeps.

i strongly disagree.

Normally when people disagree they offer an elaboration on why they do.

Human history is defined by wars of conquest, expansion, and resources. It is defined by exploitation of people, non human life and the environment.

All one has to do is look at the conquests of Persia, Alexander, Rome, Islam, the Crusades, the Mongols, the Conquistadors, the French, the British, the US, Japan, Russia, Germany, China, etc.

Look at recent examples, like the Atlantic slave trade, the colonization of Africa, the exploitation of workers, especially children, in the Industrial Revolution and in modern Asia, genocide in the Third Reich, USSR, and China. Look at the modern sex slave trade, child pornography networks, the destruction of the Amazon and other rain forests, predatory lending, etc.

Humans are bleeping monsters.

All of the examples you gave are cases where human beings were "nurtured" in negative environments.

In fact, there are not many positive environments for a child to grow up in this world and there never really have been.

Children throughout history and even now have been raised by monsters. Are you surprised at the monstrous results???

If you raised a child in an honest and true environment; I'm nearly certain that child would be honest and true.

I do believe this is true and also what drives the NWO fear. People have to have that boogyman in the closet to blame things on and will not accept the fact that their problems may just be part of the cycle of life. They feel the need to have someone as the cause of their pain.

Certainly there is an endless amount of corruption and greed among the rich but their are also many self made people who achieved what they have. I would suggest if people are feeling so controlled that they join the wealthy and become one themselves.

It's not hard and if you are not rich or not in the process of becoming wealthy you lack one of three things:

The desire

The intelligence

The hard work

People need to ask themselves which of those areas they are failing in and address that instead of shifting blame to those that have already made it.

Surely you're not suggesting that the majority of those who are weathy in today's world achieved their exalted status through intelligence, desire, and hard work! Nothing could be further from the truth.

I acknowledge that many, though far from most, of those who have achieved financial independence have done it by following that path.

Sadly, much of today's wealth is achieved through anything but intelligence and hard work. Often the intelligence that leads to wealth employs questionable methods. It would be an interesting project to determine how the ultra wealthy acquiried their wealth and continue to add to it.

I don't considered passive accretion, exploitation of others, or expoitation of one's accidental status at birth to be paths to wealth based on intelligence or hard work.

I do not accept that some one with a net worth of $1 million somehow becomes a "Global Financial Elite".
$1 million is an amount that is entirely achievable through hard work, self-restraint, some for-sight, and maybe a touch of luck..

That we would even consider a millionaire to be part of the elite scares the heck out of me, and tells me socialism has won.

Don't work too hard, lest thee become the elite.
Put that month long luxury vacation on your Discover card, and feel free to bring a friend or two.
When you return from your paradise, just lobby for an increase in the minimum wage.
After all, you've got kids to feed.

$1 million is nowhere close to elite.
$1 billion might get you invited to the party, but you sure aren't sitting at the head table.
