Not sure about Pennsylvania lock ups, I'm from Texas. He'll probably end up in Mercer very quickly from my short research. If I'm not mistaken though he will be in Camp Hill or Smithfield right now?

I doubt he's gonna be sent to one of those country club prisons...
they didn't send Martha Stewart to one and she's a Gazillionaire...

but you guys are right he's not going to any county lock up... he's going to a big house... question is where??

Fayette maybe? He'll be categorised as low risk to the public but medium risk of escape so he'll be in a medium security at worst. That's a list of 10 prisons. Guess we'll have to wait for the press to report where he is.

Ciaverella is going out west most likely. My mom has inside information. Funny thing is these jerk offs served on the same bench as my grandfather
. Yes I am from Luzerne county grew up in Dallas,PA . I won't say which judge was my grandfather because that would compromise my identity. If you would like more information on the corruption in the Luzerne County Courthouse get the book "The Luzerne County RailRoad"

From my area actually. He is getting what he deserved. I'm pretty sure one or more than one of those kids committed suicide for being wrongly sent to a detention center... shameful.

If he lives long enough ...he will be 89 when he gets out...if he does the full 28 years. Within a prison..(as most of us know) the prisoners have their own kind of government and justice....and many, many of them will hate him...and probably try to beat and/or kill him...or cause him an accident. He will not have a pleasant time of it...as he shouldn't.

I seen a thing on the tube some years back about this and nothing at the time was being done about it because it was legal at the time....thank god they at least stopped that prick and his cohort.

they're doin the same thing all over the country as well, i have a friend that got kidnapped by the state of Nevada because her kids were caught jay walking on a back street and they put her kids on probation and wouldn't let her and her kids leave the state or they were going to throw her in the pen and take her kids away...you don't want to get on the wrong end of the stick in Nevada, they'll send you to tent city and work you into the desert floor.

Florida is notorious for pulling the same crap, especially if the teachers want your kids on ritalin and you say no.

I think the system needs a serious enema and some of these creeps need impalement

So here's the deal... these two men Ciavarella and his co-defendant, Judge Michael Conahan... conspired to take $2 million in bribes from the builder of the PA Child Care and Western PA Child Care detention centers.

From 2003 to 2008 judge Michael Conahan sent around 5000 kids to Juvy many of them who did nothing wrong... Why you may ask would they do that???

in some cases these private Child detention centers make upwards of $125 per child, per day... you do that math to how much money was made at tax payer expense...

This judge was given 28 years in prison and orders to pay pay about $1.2 million in restitution.... score one for the good guys but look at the damage these two men did to those 5,000 kids.....

being a product of the juvi system i must say, this man should be tortured long and slowly. there is no telling how much damage this man did to those poor innocent kids. i for 1 deserved every moment that i spent locked up. i learned my lesson. what lesson did those innocent kids learn? ill tell you some of them. fear the system, fear the authority figures, fear the government, dont step out of line even in the least degree. i saw something about this story on tv or the web, i do not remember which. was a week or so ago. i will tell you what i learned from my time in the system, dont piss off the cops. EVER. dont EVER step out of line for any reason. there is a cell waiting for you if you do. we live in the prison states of america. dont doubt or forget it. *EVER the only way!!!* they will come and get you. the only way to stop this kind of abuse is to clean out congress and the house of reps, the president, ant ALL of the supreme court. they ALL HAVE YOUR WORST INTERESTS AT HEART! all they care about is making more $$$ from kickbacks like this man did. to the detriment of lives and family. they dont care who they hurt as long as they get more money deposited into their bank accounts. take it from 1 who was in the system, there is no good that comes from locking kids up. you just create harder kids and better criminals. (what do you think we talked about in there? i guarantee it wasnt how we were gonna clean up our lives. i am, out of ALL the people i kept in touch with from those fuxd up day, the only person who did not go to prison. i like my freedom too much. this freedom is at the expense of any initiative to do ANYTHING legal or otherwise. i was taught how to be a wage slave for the rest of my life.) that is the truth of the fact. my experience, as well as anyone i knew from those days, was nothing but horrible. rape, torture, and humiliation is all that goes on in lock up. not just at the adult level, but for preteens and teens. i ask all of you, is this the lesson that we are trying to teach our future generations? CHRIST I HOPE NOT!!! to be honest, my experience still gives me nightmares. i want to leave these united states and renounce my citizenship because of all the abuse that goes on in our corrections system. btw all this took place in alabama. small town called dothan. DO NOT ever move here. it is the MOST corrupt place ive ever lived. and ive lived in 32 states. what can i do about the state of things though? 1 guy who has already been in the system? and the juvi records getting sealed thing is a fuxj joke. the probation officer is corrupt and the judges dont give a flip about anything but sending people to jail and padding their stats as being tough on crime. i messed up i admit it, but what about the ones who did nothing wrong but to make one of these corrupt cops mad... do they deserve that kind of treatment? if you say yes, then you should be drug out into the street and shot in the face for the entire community to watch. the only way that we can get control of this situation is to make a lethal example of those who humiliate our children like this. KILL THEM ALL! THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL WE AS A SOCIETY BE ABLE TO BREAK THIS CYCLE OF VIOLENCE ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! our children deserve no less. look into your hearts and tell me im wrong.
a better way to handle the situation is to teach the kids how to get on in a modern society. imprisonment is not the answer except in the most extreme cases. they are kids for christs sake. they are impulsive and reckless. this judge is in for 28 yrs (w time off for good behavior ) of anal raping and assaults. DO NOT PUT THIS TRASH INTO SOLITARY! IT IS MUCH BETTER THAN AN ABUSER LIKE THIS SHOULD GET. i personally am in favor of torture in cases like this. i will be the first in line to administer the punishment. if only it were legal...

Edit to add one more tidbit

The evidence established that Judge Conahan closed the Luzerne County Juvenile Detention Facility when he was chief judge and helped arrange the financing for the private facilities; that Ciavarella, as juvenile court judge, sent juveniles to those facilities; that both men obstructed efforts to question the county’s use of the facilities and their financial relationships with Mericle and Powell; and both judges used bank accounts, straw parties and real estate vacation property to hide and launder payments received from Mericle and Powell.

well, capitalism, BUSH's capitalism, and the ex CEO's in secratary of treasuery, have helped others, obviously like chivverella, to find ways of putting a price on other humans, like slaves and cattle, and profitting form it. his freind, a lawyer was in on it too. it goes to show, in this perverte from of capitalism BUSH jr brought in..justice can be bought, and help hide the entitys behind her dress. cloaked* bound her mouth with red tape.
its happened already it can easily happen again. how perverted and greedy and selfish.
judge should throw his ass into the juvinle place, with ohters he falsely sentenced..see how things go

This is but one case, 5,000 kids is a pretty big number, unfortunately this is going on in much more places. I hope this opens up an investigation and help expose the others aswell. Just goes to show you how corrupt the system is.

5,000 kids guys, but least it's also 5,000 awaken to the truth on the system, kids. The government should realize the more people it harms, the more people it will have against them. It's simple logic. It;s like watching my neighbor throw a brick against my car window and me witnessing it. The neighbor denies, while I see past his lies. Now imagine if that neighbor did the same to everyone else cars and he keeps on playing innocent, but sooner or later there is a town meeting and thats when the town rises up to get justice.

Question for you DaddyBare......Do you know where that money goes IF the people ever pay it back??

This question is something I always wondered, but just assumed it lined the pockets of someone.....Why wouldn't the taxpayers of PA get more of a tax return back for their tax money going toward this scam in the first place??

I would think that those juveniles who were unjustly sentenced to these detention facilities would be the more likely candidates to receive any restitution that the judges are forced to pay. I believe that those who were unjustly incarcerated probably suffered more damages than the actual taxpayers who elected the corrupt judges in the first place.

I would argue that the restitution amount should be much larger than the actual amount received from bribes to insure that there would be enough money to compensate those who were unjustly incarcerated as well as the state's taxpayers.

I almost forgot, S&F to DaddyBare for the thread, these crooks need to be thrown under the jail along with anyone who supports the private "for-profit" prison industry.

It was the CIA/DOD that pushed for all those muslims to be brought into America and be put into Pennsylvania.

They knew those muslims would stockpile guns and ammo and wanted to use that as an excuse to abolish the 2nd Amendment.

They've been using those muslims to make money off of....creating a contracted prison for kids then throwing innocent kids in there for the $$$$$..

You just wait until the CIA/DOD's dream comes true and those muslins they put in Pennsylvania start shooting.

Back when Osama Bin Laden was working for the CIA the military's briefing on the biggest threat to America was.....

American citizens with guns.

I remember hearing about this case a while back, and I told myself he would probably get off with it. It is nice to see he got what he deserved. However I have a gut feeling that in a couple of years time, someone in power will release him on some humanitarian grounds.

They are trying to privatise prisons also (some places already). I do hope this example is understood by all sides...some things should never ever be profitable...creating prisoners being perhaps the biggest thing.

No worries...only bad guys go to jail. heh...ya, sure.

Anyhow, guy got a kick, and right now he is probably crying in his cell regretting ever sending a single person up the creek for profit...but you know, regretting things after your hammered is a bit too late...seriously though, how much of a sick sociopath do you have to be to send up some fairly innocent kid into the jaws of hell..over and over...you have to see humans as little more than insects.

Sort of why I couldn't be a judge...the concept of prison itself disgusts me for all but the worst, most unredeptive types of individual whom simply must be seperated from society verses knowingly hurt...but then again, my concept of "release date" would also be decided by a small group of psychologists for each person...so one person may be locked up for a couple years, the next person may be life due to them being perma-nuts.

Sheesh...

I remember this story from awhile back. I plum forgot about it.

I recall a mother trying to get justice for her son that was victim to these douche bag judges and had died in this detention center.

Thanks for the update Gunny (daddybare).
