It wouldn't surprise me he over dosed or committed suicide. I have seen two interviews with him and he seemed very depressed about his music career.

Loved his music when growing up. RIP Jani.

I agree, at 47 and living through the metal of the 80's, my money is on an overdose (intentional or not)


I'm sad about it, but they stopped making music in 1996.. so I can't even claim a loss when he left a legacy... amazing how you can feel so much for someone you don't even know

Thanks for posting this, I wasn't aware that he had passed. I went through a "hair metal" phase in the 80's and these guys were a big part of it. Partied many times with "Cherry Pie" in the background...

Gonna drink a round in his memory tonight!
