ATS Press Corps or other reporters

I want to raise queries which would be better coming from some sort of reporter.

Basically, I'm simply fed up with spending quite a bit of time writing certain emails requesting information (which may have taken hours to research) only to have the request ignored.

With that in mind, I was wondering what happened to the "ATS Press Corp".

Some of you may remember it being announced a couple of years ago (my, doesn't time fly...) in a thread at the link below:

Announcing the ATS Press Corps

That thread by SkepticOverlord included:

How It Works

Press corps members will be issued official, individualized press credentials (which can be confirmed) to identify them as journalist representatives of AboveTopSecret.com. They will work on stories that cover the topical-areas discussed on ATS, and find their original material through online and offline sources. These original-to-ATS stories will then be published to a dedicated Press Corps forum for members to read and post replies.

So, are there any members of the ATS Press Corp around?

While I'm interested in this question for more general purposes in the future, the two immediate queries that I would like to raise which would probably be best coming from some sort of reporter are:

(a) A request for information to the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory arising from the content of a document in the National Archives relating to UFOs from someone at the Observatory to the head of the US Air Force's UFO project (Project Bluebook) in 1958.

(b) A request to a UFO group (the Paradigm Research Group) for copies of certain official documents obtained under the Freedom Of Information Act. That group states on the relevant webpage that the group "would be happy to provide a full copy of any of these [documents] to any member of the press at no charge".

All the best,

Isaac

Press corp got closed down a long time ago....Kind of evolved into that ATS chicks show... which died off to I think.

I was a member of the ATS press corp though.

As for your requests, I think you would have just as much luck as anyone else now. Try sending your requests to the government using FOIA.

As far a I know, non of us have an active press pass anymore.Unless some one from the old crew just happens to have some of that info laying around, you are going to have do it the hard way, I imagine.

Sorry I could not be more help.

Oh well. That's a shame. Thanks for the update.

Over the few years, I've obtained acknowledgments to about 50% of the emails or letters I've sent in relation to UFOs. In other words, half the time I've spend writing such emails was completely wasted. I would have liked to improve the odds of my work resulting in a response.

Been there, done that - but I don't want to trouble government departments with requests for documents which UFO groups already have obtained and which they say they will share freely with any reporter. I don't like tax-payers money being wasted.

All the best,

Isaac

It's tough to have a functioning press corps when nobody contributes...

I was a member of the press corps, had plenty of video to contribute and got unceremoniously dumped.
I still have the actual names, email addresses, phone no. etc. of my press corps colleagues and many other members that weren't actually in the corps but networking friends, and have stayed
in contact with some of them socially.

They had access to information others don't? I wasn't around then so had never heard of this.

Or was it just people that did research for you?

Me too.
I still have two interviews saved on my computer, one of which is great stuff about pharmaceutical companies.
