From endless wars, precipitous economic collapse, cancerous growth of government, genetic engineering, what do you think the theme song for this should be. I like to have music accompany nearly everything. My vote is "The End" by The Doors.

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend the end
Of our elaborate plans the end
Of everything that stands the end
No safety or surprise the end
I'll never look into your eyes again
Can you picture what will be?
So limitless and free
Desperately in need of some stranger's hand
In a desperate land

I admire your choice, but to be honest, i'd say it would be some cheap commercial tune, elevator music, even...
and these shots in a distance, unbearable, closer and closer..
and then we will be free.

So many times these days I sing and hum those dark lyrics and melody....

In fact, the world is like a weird video these days...

ATS/MTV... "Good afternoon, your morning VJ/DJ David Icke just left the building...I'm Alex Jones. up next the Doors with "This Is The End" andf after that "Lunatic Fringe"....and as the markets close on another down day...let's play Van Halen's "Jump"...might as well jump.

Fear Factory's "Securitron (Police State 2000)" seems also fitting:

"Watchful and aware, constrain every movement
Admit the consequences, freedom's an illusion
Where is security governed through scrutiny?
Your privacy denied, organized and confined!
No place to hide!"

Morrison wasn't having the World as the suject of the tune 'This is the end'

he was actually talking about himself.... he knew he was in a death spiral kind of life....
the guy was quite cool...(even though i never seen him live) but he was supurbly pimped to the public as an unpretentious Adonis type to the hippy women in that era...hey i lived it, firsthand.

The End (of him) was of no surprise to the dopers of that era...although there arose a false flag ploy to say that he was not deceased but just in hiding----OMG the publicists never stop do they ?

remember Elvis is still alive too according to some diehards (oops there is a new icon...'DieHard')

Another great one from that same era:

Quicksilver Messenger Service - "Pride Of Man"

Turn around,
go back down,
back the way you came,
Can't you see that flash of fire ten times brighter than the day?
And behold a mighty city broken in the dust again,
Oh God, Pride of Man, broken in the dust again.

Turn around,
go back down,
back the way you came,
Babylon is laid to waste, Egypt's buried in her shame,
The mighty men are all beaten down, their kings are fallen in the ways,
Oh God, Pride of Man, broken in the dust again.

Turn around,
go back down,
back the way you came,
Terror is on every side, lo our leaders are dismayed.
For those who place their faith in fire, in fire their faith shall be
repaid,
Oh God, Pride of Man, broken in the dust again.

Turn around,
go back down,
back the way you came,
And shout a warning unto the nation that the sword of God is raised.
Yes, Babylon, that mighty city, rich in treasure, wide in fame,
Oh God, Pride of Man, broken in the dust again.

The meek shall cause your tower to fall, make of you a pyre of flame,
Oh you who dwell on many waters, rich in treasures, wide in fame.
you bow unto your God of gold, your pride of might shall be a shame,
For only God can lead His people back unto the Earth again.

Oh God, Pride of Man, broken in the dust again.
A Holy mountain be restored, and mercy on that people, that people
