Question is if it is working? If these riots continue then I don't see how we are better off not reporting. Ignorance wont solve it. But I agree that not showing most of the violence helps and does not feed the trolls...ehm riot peeps.

I'm not seeing anything on the msm live now either although i did read that there were small skirmishes taking place in certain areas.... i think somewhere i Yorkshire it went off and again in Nottingham, Liverpool...

The Channel 4 reporter did say that they were chanting EDL slogans earlier, but the policeman on 5 Live said that they weren't EDL.

I have no idea what constitutes an ''EDL slogan'', but it's perfectly possible that some people there - who happened to also be EDL members - started chanting and the rest joined in, à la a football game.

They were apparently middle-aged white guys, so it sounds more like a group of Millwall Bushwackers harking back to their heydays in the 1980s.

Feel for you having to listen to that sh*t. These guys should know that such comments are illegal and offensive.

I couldn't believe my mum. When I said I'd been chatting with a friend of mine about the riots (he has mixed race parentage), her first question was 'Is he involved?'. I f*ckin freaked!!! She has known this guy all his life, some 30 years, and she still makes such a dumb remark! I think people are scared. When they are scared they do and say a lot of dumb sh*t.

My mum would have said the same to me if it happened in my town and I was a teenager.

I think its just a mum think rather than thinking they must be doing it because theyre black.

Nothing's going off in Nottingham. Nottingham's quieter than a church mouse. Although I do live in the more sedate suburban outskirts, I would have been made aware of any major incident going off.

The reason that there's not much being reported is because there's not much trouble so far tonight. Merseyside police say that there are no reports of any major disturbances tonight ( although, the last two night's trouble in Liverpool have got into full-swing in the early hours ).

I am not racist. I applaud people who fight racism but some opinions get thrown into the racist pit without listening to what people are actually saying.

I live in an area full of black people. The problem we have around here is with white kids/youths. The Police should and do target them, especially those who are friends with known criminals.

The BBC's Five Live is out in Eltham taking pictures and tweeting: Police bottled by large group of white males in #Eltham in southeast London. Situation under control. NOT a riot.

Why is it when it's a group of white males, the BBC will say "white males".
But when it's black males, or males of any non-white race, the BBC will just say "youths".

I'm not trying to stoke the fires here, it's just something I've notied over the past few days.

When you figure this out let me know. Here, they'll post a picture and give a name for a despicable crime if the person is white, chinese-vietnamese-korean-japanese, or native. No problem.

If they are from another group, their faces get fuzzed out, and their names get deleted.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. But fact remains Duggan was a gangster carrying a gun in the UK! He got shot by cops doing their job.
Fair enough cops should've shown some respect & given the family details.
This behaviour by the youths & others of the country is disgraceful & will be very costly.
Threats made about big off on Friday night.........London or whole country????
