I believe it was more likely Eisenhower had him killed. If you listen to the tapes of the calls Kennedy made to Eisenhower about what to do during the Cuban Missle Crises you can clearly see how little Eisenhower thought of him.

Eisenhower definetly had the connections to get rid of a fool like Kennedy.

That is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard anybody say in my life. I would like to think that you were joking, but your other posts suggest trolling. I seriously hope you do not believe this.

Believe what? That Eisenhower had to tell Kennedy what to do in regards to Kruschev? He did so sorry if that ruins your view of Kennedy.

Do you think (Rising Against included) that the order originated with Johnson and was then passed down to the CIA and then onto the other guys? Or that it was an entirely different scheme ? Were Trafficante and Marcello still involved if this is the case???

Hey SS,

Oh, I for one definitely think the order was passed down. Johnson couldn't assassinate anyone himself after all. Anyway, Johnson alongside Hoover were, IMO, the main plotters in this case. They then recruited members of the CIA such as Cord Meyers and William Harvey for example - people with real motives against the Kennedy family. And then in turn the Mafia were brought in, especially as they were already well known to be working with the CIA at the time primarily in Cuba though, one such person working with them on an assassination mission (against Castro) was Johnny Roselli.

The mafia for one already had a key motive against the Kennedy's - you see it goes right to the beginning really, even before Kennedy was president in fact. His father, Joseph Kennedy, had his own connections to the mafia, particularly with Chicago Mob Boss Salvatore "Sam" Giancana, someone who he called in to help literally steal the official Election of Kennedy and Nixon, the closest election in history.

Giancana had tremendous influence and Joseph was more than happy to call him in as he knew him from his bootlegging days and try to strike a deal. A deal that's suspected to have taken place was that Giancana and co would help Kennedy become president by stealing votes, buying votes, ghost voting etc., and in turn, the future president would completely leave the mafia alone and let them deal exactly how they wanted to deal. It was quite a nice deal for them really, after all, the Mafia saw having one of there own right at the top as quite favorable indeed as one would expect.

Unfortunately for them though the president and particularly his Brother the new attorney General, Bobby Kennedy, pretty much did the exact opposite - they personally went after the mafia, perhaps more so than any other administration in history, and started jailing them left, right and center. Carlos Marcello for one was eventually deported to Guatemala by Bobby before eventually making his way back into America secretly. Something he went onto really hate him for. Many others felt the same way as well..

Due to this failed deal, and the fact the Mafia were really suffering from the Kennedy's actions they certainly had a motive for playing a part in the assassination, and they really did feel like something had to be done to stop them.

Here's a snippet explaining a little bit more about this to try and back up what I'm claiming here:

On 22nd November, 1963, President Kennedy was assassinated. Rumours began to circulate that Giancana and other gang bosses such as Santos Trafficante, Carlos Marcello, and Johnny Roselli, were involved in the crime.

In 1975 Frank Church and his Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities discovered that Judith Campbell had been involved with both Giancana and John F. Kennedy. It emerged that during the 1960 presidential election Campbell took messages from Giancana to Kennedy. Campbell later claimed these messages concerned the plans to murder Fidel Castro. Kennedy also began an affair with Campbell and used her as a courier to carry sealed envelopes to Giancana. He told her they contained "intelligence material" concerning the plot to kill Castro.

Giancana was now ordered to appear before Church's committee. However, before he could appear, on 19th June, 1975, Sam Giancana was murdered in his own home. He had a massive wound in the back of the head. He had also been shot six times in a circle around the mouth.

On 14th January, 1992, the New York Post claimed that Hoffa, Santos Trafficante and Carlos Marcello had all been involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Frank Ragano was quoted as saying that at the beginning of 1963 Hoffa had told him to take a message to Trafficante and Marcello concerning a plan to kill Kennedy. When the meeting took place at the Royal Orleans Hotel, Ragano told the men: "You won't believe what Hoffa wants me to tell you. Jimmy wants you to kill the president." He reported that both men gave the impression that they intended to carry out this order.

In 1992 Giancana's nephew published Double Cross: The Story of the Man Who Controlled America. The book attempted to establish that Giancana had rigged the 1960 Presidential election vote in Cook County on John Kennedy's behalf, which effectively gave Kennedy the election. It is argued that Kennedy reneged on the deal and therefore Giancana had him killed.

In his autobiography, Mob Lawyer (1994) (co-written with journalist Selwyn Raab) Frank Ragano added that in July, 1963, he was once again sent to New Orleans by Hoffa to meet Santos Trafficante and Carlos Marcello concerning plans to kill President John F. Kennedy. When Kennedy was killed Hoffa apparently said to Ragano: "I told you could do it. I'll never forget what Carlos and Santos did for me." He added: "This means Bobby is out as Attorney General". Marcello later told Ragano: "When you see Jimmy (Hoffa), you tell him he owes me and he owes me big."

Not many seem to be aware of the claim by a man called Jack Van Laningham, so if anyone here is also unaware, please do take the time to watch this short video. It's a personal interview with Jack and the reason it's important is he claims, being the cell mate of Marcello while in prison, that he personally revealed to have been involved in the assassination. It's certainly worth a watch whether real or not.

The Bay of Pigs also turned the Kennedy's into something of a hate figure, primarily with-in the CIA itself. The CIA it seems went right behind the presidents back to make it happen though and then Kennedy himself was blamed for it. Due to the mess that was caused, many of those with-in the administration paid the price for it. One of those was William Harvey and he's, in my personal pinion, very significant in this case.

Here's a snippet discussing why:

After the Bay of Pigs disaster President John F. Kennedy created a committee (SGA) charged with overthrowing Castro's government. The SGA, chaired by Robert F. Kennedy (Attorney General), included John McCone (CIA Director), McGeorge Bundy (National Security Adviser), Alexis Johnson (State Department), Roswell Gilpatric (Defence Department), General Lyman Lemnitzer (Joint Chiefs of Staff) and General Maxwell Taylor. Although not officially members, Dean Rusk (Secretary of State) and Robert S. McNamara (Secretary of Defence) also attending meetings.

At a meeting of this committee at the White House on 4th November, 1961, it was decided to call this covert action program for sabotage and subversion against Cuba, Operation Mongoose. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy also decided that General Edward Lansdale (Staff Member of the President's Committee on Military Assistance) should be placed in charge of the operation.

The CIA JM/WAVE station in Miami served as operational headquarters for Operation Mongoose. The head of the station was Ted Shackley and over the next few months became very involved in the attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro. One of Lansdale's first decisions was to appoint Harvey as head of Task Force W. Harvey's brief was to organize a broad range of activities that would help to bring down Castro's government.

On 12th March, 1961, Harvey arranged for CIA operative, Jim O'Connell, to meet Sam Giancana, Santo Trafficante, Johnny Roselli and Robert Maheu at the Fontainebleau Hotel. During the meeting O'Connell gave poison pills and $10,000 to Rosselli to be used against Fidel Castro. As Richard D. Mahoney points out in his book: Sons and Brothers: "Late one evening, probably March 13, Rosselli passed the poison pills and the money to a small, reddish-haired Afro-Cuban by the name of Rafael "Macho" Gener in the Boom Boom Room, a location Giancana thought "stupid." Rosselli's purpose, however, was not just to assassinate Castro but to set up the Mafia's partner in crime, the United States government. Accordingly, he was laying a long, bright trail of evidence that unmistakably implicated the CIA in the Castro plot. This evidence, whose purpose was blackmail, would prove critical in the CIA's cover-up of the Kennedy assassination."

During the Cuban Missile Crisis, Robert Kennedy instructed CIA director John McCone, to halt all covert operations aimed at Cuba. A few days later he discovered that Harvey had ignored this order and had dispatched three commando teams into Cuba to prepare for what he believed would be an inevitable invasion. Kennedy was furious and as soon as the Cuban Missile Crisis was over, Harvey was removed as commander of ZR/RIFLE. On 30th October, 1962, RFK terminated "all sabotage operations" against Cuba. As a result of President Kennedy's promise to Nikita Khrushchev that he would not invade Cuba, Operation Mongoose was disbanded.

Harvey was now sent to Italy where he became Chief of Station in Rome. Harvey knew that Robert Kennedy had been responsible for his demotion. A friend of Harvey's said that he "hated Bobby Kennedy's guts with a purple passion".

Harvey continued to keep in contact with Johnny Roselli. According to Richard D. Mahoney: "On April 8, Rosselli flew to New York to meet with Bill Harvey. A week later, the two men met again in Miami to discuss the plot in greater detail... On April 21 he (Harvey) flew from Washington to deliver four poison pills directly to Rosselli, who got them to Tony Varona and hence to Havana. That same evening, Harvey and Ted Shackley, the chief of the CIA's south Florida base, drove a U-Haul truck filled with the requested arms through the rain to a deserted parking lot in Miami. They got out and handed the keys to Rosselli."

Some researchers such as Gaeton Fonzi, Larry Hancock, Richard D. Mahoney, Noel Twyman, James Richards and John Simkin believe that Harvey was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
(Source)

I have no doubt Harvey was involved in some way also. As Carlos Marcello himself is once claimed to have said: "Cut the tail of the dog off first, and the head will turn around and bite you. But cut the head off the dog first and the tail dies with it". What this means is you assassinate JFK you kill 2 birds with one stone as you stop both Kennedy's coming after you from then on. Simply assassinating Bobby on his own would mean you face the wrath of the presidency and that's not something anyone wanted. After all let's be real here, every single person involved or suspected has a vendetta against Bobby:

Johnson hated him, Hoover hated him, those with-in the government did, the mafia certainly did - everyone did! I'd go as far as saying Bobby was the real reason why JFK was murdered also. They all wanted to get to Bobby but they knew getting to John first means the end of him, his government and Bobby also.

JFK was a problem, but Bobby was THE problem as I always say..

After all, don't you guys think It's slightly weird that after Bobby started going after the presidency he himself was assassinated? I see it as no coincidence in the slightest and neither should you.

Oh, and as I haven't really mentioned Trafficante very much in this post, and as you asked about here, here's a snippet of some interest for you:

Trafficante also spent time in Florida. This resulted in his arrest and conviction for gambling offences. He was released from prison in January 1957 after his conviction was overturned by Florida's State Supreme Court. It is believed that soon afterwards Trafficante arranged for Albert Anastasia, his Mafia rival, to be murdered. Trafficante returned to Cuba but his casinos were closed down when Fidel Castro overthrew Fulgencio Batista in January, 1959. Trafficante spent time in prison before being deported to the United States.

In September 1960 Johnny Roselli and Sam Giancana, took part in talks with Allen W. Dulles, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), about the possibility of murdering Fidel Castro. In 1961 Roselli persuaded Trafficante to join the conspiracy. Meyer Lansky also became involved in this plot and was reportedly offering a million-dollar reward for the Cuban leader's murder.

Trafficante also worked closely with the CIA agent, William Harvey, in this operation. By 1962, Trafficante and his friends became convinced that the Cuban revolution could not be reversed by simply killing Castro. However, they continued to play along with this CIA plot in order to prevent them being prosecuted for criminal offences committed in the United States.

It is also believed that Trafficante became involved in Mafia plots to kill President John F. Kennedy. He told a friend, Jose Aleman: "Mark my word, this man Kennedy is in trouble, and he will get what is coming to him. Kennedy's got going to make it to the election. He is going to be hit."

Just before Kennedy was assassinated on 22nd November, 1963, Jack Ruby made contact with Trafficante, and another Mafia leader, Carlos Marcello, about a problem he was having with the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA). However, the Warren Commission failed to find any direct link between Trafficante and Ruby concluded that "Oswald acted alone".

Trafficante continued to work for the CIA and was involved in the Iran-Contra affair. Santo Trafficante died on the 19th March, 1987.

On 14th January, 1992, the New York Post claimed that Trafficante, Jimmy Hoffa and Carlos Marcello had all been involved in the assassination of President John F. Jimmy wants you to kill the president." He added: "This means Bobby is out as Attorney General". Marcello later told Ragano: "When you see Jimmy (Hoffa), you tell him he owes me and he owes me big."

These tapes made by the widow of JFK (Jackie Kennedy) coincide with an interview a few years back with one Madeleine Duncan Brown, who claimed to be a mistress of Lyndon Johnson. The concept that LBJ was the engine behind the assassination is the common thread and that there may well be some still alive today who were either co-conspirators or knew of the operation.

On a side note, the full 81 minute Madeleine Duncan Brown interview that was on You Tube, was suddenly and inexplicably removed this morning as I was in the middle of watching it again. All listings for it have disappeared from You Tube, save for a few 5 minute outtakes. Google video still has a copy up and running, located here:
video.google.com...

There has been a real effort made, over a period of nearly five decades, to keep this subject under the control of the lone gunman solution. Like 9.11, any revival of the subject via new information, is quickly seized and/or ridiculed. I suspect that if these tapes being released from the Kennedy library do make it to the public, there will be a rapid backlash against the Kennedy clan to distract attention from the subject to the family's history. we will be told to look at the misbehaviors... which are certainly part of the record, and not of those who had the president killed.

I have serious doubts that the full story on those tapes of Jackie Kennedy, though. Will be allowed to make it into the open fully intact. Our current situation is one of consummate government control of information and a coming storm of shuttering the web.

The Daily Mail website where this story is located, shut down comments about 7:30 am EDT this morning. This not only includes all new comments, but all those that had already been posted.

I hope that Caroline follows through with this...and does reveal to all of us the tapes of Jakie O. This new theory sounds very plausible to me.

Well if JFK was killed because of what he did with the Cuban missile crisis, it was worth it.

JFK saved the world from nuclear war.

At the time of the crisis, they were already 160 nukes in Cuba, among them, 90 tactical nukes. At the time and until very recently (1992), nobody knew that in the west... and Castro told Khrushchev to use those nukes if Cuba were to be attacked... didn't matter if Cuba were to be vaporized after.

So if JFK had opted for the ``hardline`` stance of that nutjob Curtis LeMay or any other warmonger, nuclear war would have happened.

So if JFK was murdered for that, it was worth it.

I agree with you. JFK was a level headed guy, and we needed that with The Cuban missle situation. Pretty much the last great Democrat. ~SheopleNation
