Hello everyone. I've been trying to end my stay on the ATS community but I can't find a way to end my subscription to the ATS. Here's what I need to know, maybe you can help so I can end this.

1. How do I permanently unsubscribe to the ATS so that I am completely off the ATS.

Send me a U2U before this post gets trashed too, thanks.

Thankyou.

I may be wrong,

But as far as I am aware in the terms and conditions upon joining all content you provide is Common now, meaning you cant delete any posts you have made. However if you cantact a Mod and a post can be shown to cause harm to yourself, or others they will review and discuss your request with the 3 Amigos and decide weather to remove or edit the portions that cause any danger.

If you dont want to be part of the community anymore just dont log on or come here. I am unaware of any way to "delete" and account, as this would not be able due to the posts being linked to an account (considering some of the members who have ended up in news over recent years, for not good things, it is important for the community to have an link to the poster, so the account/name is kept.

You can see this with banned members who older posts still show.

I would u2u a Mod for clarity, but as I always do "think before you submit" as its in cyberspace and therefore, documented, stored and kept within human history for the rest of our civilisation.

Kind Regards

Elf

The short answer is. Log out. But you don't really want to, do you?

I don't really want to leave the community but it gets frustrating when mods cannot seem to know what is valid content and then they either trash or remove a thread. his happened when I was critical of Oobamah when he was running for office. Everything got trashed and removed so as to not harm the poor man and his believers. When I post a thread, they are usually contentious because society is that way. Most people understand this and can openly debate the more sensitive subjects.

Upon some advice from some of you, I will not permanently leave, at least not yet. I will wait to see if the mods can keep the finger off the delete button and see how much trouble others have. I may make some more thread posts on issues that rub some the wrong way, and if they are allowed to remain, I will stay.

I guess what upsets me is that the mods and owners are too quick to make hasty judgements on threads as they have the button. Anyway, we'll see. Thankyou for your input on this. I will follow the advice given and wait and see if change we can believe in comes to the ATS. For now, I'll be around.

And I want to thank the mods and site owners for allowing this thread to remain as long as it has.

Just a quick note:

Staff is made up of a variety of political, religious, cultural and moral affiliation. There is no standard we all 'Fly United' on except the T&C's ( *yawn*... yes, you've heard that before, I know, but it's true). You might think that there is a political Democratic agenda at play, but then how do you explain myself, and many other staffers, who are not Americans? Think we have no say?
Believe me, a socialist tree hugging lefty, that I make myself heard plenty.

There's not one of us who could get away actioning anything without all other staff becoming aware, if not today, then tomorrow.

As far as posting threads treading close to the line which the T&C's have drawn, don't forget that staff interpretation plays into how it is handled. Whatever is decided upon is then done.

The Mod Squad

Every mod is biased. Every one of us. Let's get that out of the way.

That said, we are only allowed to take action that has a firm basis in the terms & conditions.

Mods who take action that is not supported by the T&C don't last very long, and though we don't make a big fuss about it in the public forums, I have seen what happens more than a few times over the years, and can state without hesitation that our moderator community (which consists of dozens of mods in many different countries who each have our own different and often conflicting personal biases) doesn't take kindly to abuse of trust.

If you think you're being picked on or singled out unfairly (first read Why Me?), by all means submit a complaint saying so, and put forth your evidence. We do take that seriously.

But please bear in mind that if you're violating the T&C (and yes, I know they're long and complicated, but they boil down to basically just being cool about things) or disagree with a mod over a thread move or removal or some similar matter of opinion, then what you may see as being picked on is probably just mods doing their jobs.

I know a lot of people don't believe that and assume we're all evil power trippers, but it's true.

Just sayin'

Um, that could have been worded better.

To the topic...

I know it can seem as though one side is favored over the other here when your "side" is taking a licking, but the reality is, based on the complaints, ALL sides think the OTHER side is favored, that's how we know we're doing it right.

Believe me when I tell you there is absolutely no way any single agenda could ever have sway with our staff, way too many differing opinions, beliefs, life experiences, etc... The Terms and Conditions rule the site, that said, we are only humans and we certainly make mistakes, if we've made one we'll own it and correct it.

Springer...

Cute edit.

Edit to add (rather than just posting "2nd line" to keep the mods off my back): Yes, we do somehow manage to simultaneously be liberal, conservative, politically correct, politically incorrect, pro-government, anti-government, too strict, too lenient, too fast, too slow, too hard, too soft, and rarely just right.

That takes talent.
