I really appreciate your support. This is not mainstream thought for most and it is difficult to voice. I have a strong feeling large changes are afoot - and I try to limit my news intake.
I am working to understand these feelings, visions, which are primarily vague.

I do tend to look at times to see if there are corresponding events - I know there is a term for that. You have a bias and you look only to supporting evidence of that bias. But today the flare was so large, and I felt so ill hours before learning of it - and since this seems to really be a reoccuring event and not my imagination I am starting to take more notice.

You know when you are sitting next to a speaker and it makes a weird chirping noise before your phone rings. I'm a work right now and the speakers chirp every so often, but no incoming phone calls. Could the flares be causing this?

I know the event is passed, but I thought this was an interesting point, and wanted to explain why that precautionary disconnection would be an idea, but may prove ineffective.

When the Carrington Event occurred telegraph machine operators reported all sorts of crazy things, including paper reels being set on fire, electrical shocks, and weirdest of all , were the telegraph units which continued to send and recieve , despite being unhooked from thier power supplies. The electrical activity that was occurring there had no power source except the electromagnetic fluctuations caused by the flare...

Of course the Carrington event was one HELL of a big event, and the passed storm was not near to its size, however, the possibility of interaction between an inanimate electrical system, and the effects of the flare, means that if something were to happen with your car , it MIGHT happen without the presence of a battery. Of course removing the battery will save you the time of say, cleaning battery acid out of your engine, should some bizzare set of circumstances blow it, or melt it in some way.

The electrical problems of geomagnetic storms are the result of the fluctuations of Earth's magnetic field. These fluctuations cause induced electrical currents in long conductors (powerlines, steel pipes, etc.). Those currents (power surges) cause problems with transformers and power stations.

Geomagnetic storms do not affect automobiles or electronics (unless they are plugged in at the time).

Unless electronics are sourced through satellites. Here in New York, we have lost power a few times and my cell is dropping calls left & right.

Your cell phone doesn't use satellites. But I was talking about damage.

I had a pretty decent auroral display overhead last night, but not as good as I've seen many times before... Which kind of surprised me really, I expected a G4 to give off a better show than that.

Perhaps the auroras will get clearer and more colourful over the next couple of nights.

Living in Canada, we see them quite often... But the best one I've ever seen was when I was a kid... it was a beautiful display of technicolor drapes swaying in the breeze over your head and you felt like you could literally reach up and touch them.

Back in those days, our science teacher taught us that the auroras were caused by the reflection of light off of the arctic ice sheets.

Let us all pray to whatever Almighty we hold dear in our hearts, including atheists, for we earthling had been praying to same Almighty that is known by many names throughout our civilisation who had brought comfort, solace and direction to our lives, for He loves us all.

May the seismic activities that is come, and probably to the same regions as in the recent past, be spared of our fellow human brothers and sisters life. There is still power in prayers, that even men of science with still so much more to learn in our ever growing scientific knowledge of our universe, dares not dispute, at least not in their hearts even if they may claim otherwise with their mouth.

Ah , thanks for pointing that out. Thats a lot less concerning. I can deal with unplugging everything, but I was concerned about some of my battery carrying articles , for instance my Drill, torches, and so on. If any potential event is going to utterly ignore those articles then I can probably fix any damaged things around my house and neighbor hood if called upon to do so.
