I've looked at the Lasco images for over a year now and have never seen the Proton storm as it has been shown in the past two days.

Sorry, I don't know how to embed. Link to Soho does not work.

sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov...

Spaceweather:

spaceweather.com...

Is this a normal occurence? I'm thinking not. We are due for a massive Geomag storm laced with a high dose of protons.

Results will be communication interruption and possible noise in power grid.

Moving at an estimated speed of 1950 km/s, this CME is expected to sweep up two earlier CMEs already en route. Analysts at the GSFC Space Weather Lab say the combined cloud should reach Earth on August 5th at 13:55 UT plus or minus 7 hours: "The impact on Earth is likely to be major. The estimated maximum geomagnetic activity index level Kp is 7 (Kp ranges from 0 - 9). The flanks of the CME may also impact STEREO A, Mars and Mercury/MESSENGER." High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras. Aurora alerts: text, voice

Not sure what this implies. I haven't noticed anything unusual today, other than the usual hot crappy weather.
Have you?

Here is a video I was sent with a statement from the NOAA

It is quite impressive to see three separate CME's converging on Earth at the same exact time!

There are millions of tiny specks in the soho images, which I have not seen before. Can anyone link the soho from today?

He says that there will be no effect except for the power grid, gps etc.

If those things are affected, why wouldn't our internal system be affected?

The Protons will be raining down on us!

I am sure he is paid to make this seem less than problematic; I for one feel there is more to this than meets the eye!

This effects electrical stuff, as stated. BTW, you are electrical. It will effect you in a myriad of ways, you'll feel tired, possibly sick, dizzy, depressed, anxious and somewhat out of it at at times as your consciousness tries to process this information. Have fun, more to come.

3 major m class flares converging at once on the Earth. That would be one big ass flare if it was a single event, instead of three converging events.

Yes, I believe Geomagnetic Storms affect our very psyche! You are right Crank...the incoming protons will affect our electric circuitry too. It is not just the external grid, but the internal. I guess it is happening right now.

In the NOAA video, the guy said "fluctuations" in the grid...that is not very meaningful.

A significant black out in this weather will be deadly for many many people. I seem to remember the 2003 summer black out being attributed to a CME. Am I wrong?

Yes, in this heat it would be deadly. Hydrate...stock water just in case.

would it be safe to say that you should maybe unhook the battery in your cars?

Ok, feel sick. Literally. Today I had this overwhelming sense of vertigo and a head ache. Just malise. I thought the last time I felt this way was 2 days prior to the big quake in Japan. I just thought this in passing with a smidge of fear. Last time I felt this way, as stated was 2 days before the big quake and I just laid down as I was of no use - and I had a dream of a quake, generic, no idea where, but I did tell several friends of my dream.
In my dream I felt there would be great loss of life. When Japan happened and I opened my computer to see the headlines I felt like I might vomit. I have no control over these episodes, cannot predict, and I do not have psychic prophetic apptitude with any certainty.
I just feel physically ill sometimes before earth movement - and after flares.

Because of my last episode I feel hesitant about what this all means. I did not like the sick feeling of familarity before I laid down again today. To wake and read of this event - makes that hesitant feeling more so.

I don't know what to say...only that I think that you are a strong empath. Do not worry...it is all that it should be right now. For you...I would say do not pay attention to any news....focus on things that are beautiful...creative. Peace!

All I know is Im in a bad mood, and normally happy. People in chat seemed to be barking at each other too. These flares have to be affecting some of us.

Maybe this is why my husband is so GROUCHY lately. His electricity is out of whack from the sun flares! Or maybe he's just a grouch.
