I know I've seen the topic on here before about the idea that we came from Mars, but I believe that life existed on Mars at some point in the past. Also, if life did exist and became as advanced as we have, or even more advanced, and they new of an impending ELE, wouldn't they also start to build under ground? Could it be possible that "they" are living underground waiting for the atmosphere to return? Or maybe the atmosphere never came back and they perished under ground...just something I had to get off my chest.

To get news that that completely blows the lid off our current reality and ends some massive debates and shakes the foundation of most peoples beliefs, isn't necessarily a "benefit" but really? You needed to ask this question?

Seasonal plumes of methane have been monitored for a while now. The reason, subterranian micro life. If had to take a guess

Don't know about the "river on Mars", but can show the lake of standing water on Mars:

Liquid Water on Mars?

NASA is slowly trickling out information about water in a liquid state on Mars, which will hopefully lead to greater disclosure. Well...if not from us, than from some other nations space imaging program. (here's hoping) F&S to the op!

Here's another one I just found on my own:

Exactly!
Methane is a tell tale for life, and in some creature it is accompanied by a funny sound.

Seasonal occurances; methane, colored flows, remnants of moving matter all add up to something but what?

Humans are far too conceited to welcome new science that challenges our current understanding.

Why is everyone saying it's dying a slow death? Things could be operating in the opposite of what most think. The planets behind the earth in our solar system are bigger than us and supposedly the earth is expanding. Maybe were dying (expanding to a gas giant) and mars is just beginning.

I take it no one even bothered to look up any information on their own.

They will announce that they "might have" found flowing salt water.

Okay, okay!
Here's the river on Mars, but keep in mind this is a false-color image, which has lost some of its already amazing, detail. And who knows what the composition might be; saline-rich, or not? :

I just wanted everyone to see the stream because it was sprung on us.

Actually the lead time from NASA was extremely short compared to their usual preparations.

As can be ascertained by the goofy questions that were fielded from the less than inquisitive crowd.

I wish they would have at least primed the attendees with some juicy questions rater than: "What's a gully?"

No one with real credentials was in the crowd, or they just did not speak up,

Could this be because of the polar ice caps of the planets in our solar system are melting which would create liquid water?
science.nasa.gov...
This would lead one to already believe there could be liquid water there.....
what a waste of breath and typing skills.

People like you (with such critical, skeptical attitudes) will be a thing of the past, very soon.

So shall it be.

THAT was well received, understood, and gratefully so.

Take good care, friend.

At least 2/3 are rolling our way. Watch out for the Sharks.

Mike.
