Ooooo k, don't know if this is the right forum or if it would be better suited in the rant forum. Its been a long time since I've started a thread and this stuff has been on my mind lately. Hypothetically if I had the money to finance a campaign and if the voters voted for me lol, and lets just say as the POTUS you could change some things what would they be? Well here's what I would do

-First END THE FRIGGING FED!!!! Could cost me my life but if it makes America better so be it.
- Adopt a more isolationist attitude, focus on our own problems first. My momma always said, when your perfect then you can tell others what to do. And honestly as small as this world is I still don't think we are ready as a planet to peacefully co-exist so lets focus on us.
- Limit Congress, the Senate, the judiciary and all of the alphabet agency heads to 1 term of 4-6 years. Its entrenched thinking that is partly to blame for what we are going through now. Every 4-6 years get new blood in for fresh thinking.
- Inform lending institutions that no matter what the loan is (house, car, boat, motorcycle, student loans etc) that no matter the loan amount they can charge no more than $300 a month til its paid off. And an interest cap on that loan of 5%
- Bring all our troops home, focus on defensive technologies, and possibly reduce the each branch to 50,000 service members each, with a maximum enlistment term of 8 years. And only from 22-30 years of age, young enough to be in your prime, while still being (well mostly) mature enough to think for yourself while still following lawful orders of your NCOs and officers.
- Healthcare for everyone money for this will be from what we are saving by instituting the above policies.
- Make the education system more appealling by paying teachers more, as well as nationally recognizing those teachers that are truly extraordinary
- Disclose every classified file we have locked away. On every subject.
- Inform Senate , congressman, and judiciary person that there will no longer be lifetime benefits, yiu work 40 hours a week and get no more holidays than an average citizen. And the only benefits will be what they pay into
- Stop using SS to fund other programs. Period.
- create more public works projects, use some money that was saved from the above ideas to send ppl to vocational schools.
- I would like to get rid of the whole monetary system but I don't really know how I would do that

I'm sure after I post this ill think of more but thats the important stuff off the top of my head I would do. So what do you guys think?

ok first off it you have the money to be president over 1 billion dollars why the hell would you even want to be president ?

go buy an island drink lots of beer dance with some hot women drink some more and then pass out

you would be doing about the same amount of work and putting out the same results as a president would.

spend 1 billion dollars for a salary that pays 500k meh

islands are calling

That would only happen if you were dictator.

The POTUS doesn't have that kind of power.

it's nice thinking...but even if you became president and tried implementing policies that actually benefit the people tremendously and not the corporations and finger puppets in washington...then you better expect to make a lot of enemies and live behind a bullet proof glass window for the extent of your term...just sayin...

So tell me Mr. President... How long would it take to pay off the average house at $305,900?

I was thinking the banks would love this.

Indentured servitude for a lifetime + foreclosure after death = WIN!

As appealing as that is sometimes now adays, i wouldn't. It about helping the people. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I had that much money and didn't give back to the community and the country

I somewhat agree, however this would all be voted upon by the American people, I would encouraged our elected representatives to go back to their districts and talk to the people before voting. And the American people would have veto authority not me. Like I said, totally hypothetical new system of government

Don't matter how long it takes, its 300 a month if yiu should die before its paid off, and your heirs do not wish to continue payments it will be sold back to the lender.

The Germans tried that in the 30s and ended up with the Third Reich.

No one man should ever wield that kind of authority.

If I were the President of the US...

1. I would make our government open and transparent.

2. I would make it impossible for Congressmen or Lobbyists to slept pork barrel projects or corporate welfare in the laws when no one's looking.

3. I would make a commitment for no more secrecy and more open to the public.

4. I would let the public view all the bills on my desk for 5 days and see what's in it before I sign it.

5. I would let the media broadcast meetings between the lobbyists and the government agencies so the public would know what they were doing.

6. I would let the tax bills that are being debated in congress and all the names of the corporate beneficiaries transparent.

7. All this will be online for the public to review.

Come again?
Who would sell it? The owner?
The lender would sell it to themselves?

It matters. It matters greatly.

Cool I'll have a mansion, a Rolls, and a $100 million yacht.....

Thinking for yourself in the military can be a problem from a CO's POV. 8 years maximum enlistment would screw a lot of peoples chosen careers.

- Healthcare for everyone money for this will be from what we are saving by instituting the above policies.

I'm all for across the board medical, but I fail to see the low to middles being content paying for Paris to have her next butt lift. Maybe a look at how other countries implement their own medicare systems(Australia & Canada are far from perfect but their systems do "kinda" work.

- Make the education system more appealling by paying teachers more, as well as nationally recognizing those teachers that are truly extraordinary

I agree that teachers should be paid more but expect taxes to rise.

- Disclose every classified file we have locked away. On every subject.

Might make life difficult in a diplomatic sense.....Look at the damage done by Wikileaks(JFTR I think Assange has done us all a great service) and times it by one thousand... For example, Oxygen gives life but too much can kill you.

- Inform Senate , congressman, and judiciary person that there will no longer be lifetime benefits, yiu work 40 hours a week and get no more holidays than an average citizen. And the only benefits will be what they pay into

There is a catch 22 here....Politicians don't make as much when compared to their private sector equivalents....If you take away too much from them you will only be left with monkeys running things.

- Stop using SS to fund other programs. Period.

I don't know enough about the US SS system to comment.

- create more public works projects, use some money that was saved from the above ideas to send ppl to vocational schools.

I agree

- I would like to get rid of the whole monetary system but I don't really know how I would do that

Are you sure about doing this? Monetary systems work in our favour and mean that we can buy housing, food, transportation easily. Imagine trying to pay for a house in tomatoes.....At $3kg for tomatoes....a $300,000 house would cost 100 tonnes of tomatoes....Now you just need to find someone that owns a house and really loves tomatoes

Very true. Ok, What if we had a double presidency? If one should get killed or die under suspicious circumstances the power of the one left would be limited, til a replacement for the first one can be voted upon. I'm gonna try to answer all replies as best I can. Are my ideas perfect? Of course not, but my main reason for writing this was to get awayfrom Obama shiulda done this or I do t like this or that but to ask "what would you do?" And please everyone keep in mind I'm doing this from my phone and I do have class everyday. Just a cdl class but it does occupy 10 hours of my day lol.

Hmmm good point. Possibly the lender could take it back and resell it? Maybe become property of the state to be used for homeless sheltering? Any thoughts on how to perfect my idea, or are yiu here to just shoot it down? I mean no offense, but I'm looking for a back and forth reasonable discussion on making positive changes to our system. I've read most of your posts in other discussions and they are usually pretty concise and thoughtful. This is me telling g you I've always respected your position :-) and to to the poster above that mentioned something about making enemies and what not. Yes, there will be so.e very angry people out there (frigging elites) but if they kill me I become one with the force (just kidding!!) No I would become a martyr :-) I'm not afraid to die for the cause!!
