Bomb strapped to teen girl in exclusive Sydney suburb of Mosman street
A ransom note has been found inside the house with the girl, who celebrated her 18th birthday three weeks ago, The Daily Telegraph reports.
The drama unfolded at 2.49pm this afternoon when an 18-year-old woman called police to the North Shore mansion "following the discovery of a suspicious device".
Police sources did not deny reports that the device was strapped to the woman, and while it was not clear how the device came to be strapped to her neck, it is understood she did not place it the
He said they believed it was an extortion attempt and that the initial details of the situation were being conveyed to police via the girl's father.
.The girl, who is part of one of Sydney's wealthiest families is understood to be "absolutely petrified".
Police believe the ransom note is attached to her neck but bomb experts have been unable at this point to read its contents.

What do you think the odds are that the bit about "the ransom note is believed to be strapped to her neck but so far they've been unable to read the contents" bit is a bid to buy more time. Obviously the cops know exactly what goes out in the news and the know the perpetrators will be monitoring it. I'd say they released that so the people that did it won't be as antsy as to why their demands haven't been met.
