Well I think they rushed to get this bill passed in large part for them to go on their 5 week vacation.

And I think Obama wants to party the night away at his big fundraiser party and birthday bash in Chi Town tomorrow.

I remember this same bullsh*t happened exactly last year at this time with the unemployment extension.

10 trillion in new debt added over the next 10 years ...
Open Letter: Why I Oppose the Debt Ceiling Compromise .. by Rand Paul

Adds at least $7 trillion to our debt over the next 10 years. The deal purports to "cut" $2.1 trillion, but the "cut" is from a baseline that adds $10 trillion to the debt. This deal, even if all targets are met and the Super Committee wields its mandate - results in a BEST case scenario of still adding more than $7 trillion more in debt over the next 10 years. That is sickening.

We have lost the republic ...

And you have a problem with politicians fundraising? Would you be against it if it was your candidate trying to raise money for his/her campaign or would it be justified then?

Your funny the way your trying to fear-monger this "Super Congress". It's nothing more than a committee who sends a report to the Congress, yes to be debated, and contains information from multiple sources like the CBO who has to score it for them.

Here is the link and if you could highlight the areas you actually have a problem with than we could debate the actual bill and not your assumption of what is happening.

I find it pretty ironic that it comes the day after the debt ceiling votes. Hell, Obama just got more money to spend and now it is time for him to party lavishly. It is good to be king I guess.

This should sum it all up for me:

ETA: Has anyone seen this lovely bit of info?:

Pentagon gets extra $50 Billion

Rather than cutting $400 billion in defense spending through 2023, as President Barack Obama had proposed in April, the current debt proposal trims $350 billion through 2024, effectively giving the Pentagon $50 billion more than it had been expecting over the next decade.

It was planned a long time ago. He's already cancelled other fundraisers to deal with this issue and now it's over so he doesn't have to cancel this one. Every politician has to fund raise and it's been over a month since he's had one so don't think combining one with his birthday party is a big deal.

funny the way you down play everything as if nothing important is going on. Its just business as usual huh?

Huffington Post ...

Legislation approved by the Super Congress -- which some on Capitol Hill are calling the "super committee" -- would then be fast-tracked through both chambers, where it couldn't be amended by simple, regular lawmakers, who'd have the ability only to cast an up or down vote.

Huffington Post

"super Congress" even greater super powers, according to multiple news reports and congressional aides with knowledge of the plan ...

... Under the reported framework, legislation the new congressional committee writes would be fast-tracked through Congress and could not be filibustered or amended.

Sounds like more than just another committee
... and that is hardly just my assumption.

It should be clear by now that everyone who blames “liberals” or “conservatives” or “republicans” or “democrats” and argues from that perspective are just chasing shadows.

This “label trap” just serves to cause in-fighting amongst those who would be much more powerful if they only worked together.

I challenge everyone to go to you local election boards and change your party affiliation to Independent.

I challenge everyone to stop the in-fighting and find the common ground of Liberty, Justice and Freedom for All.

I challenge everyone to find their congressperson while they are home on vacation for the next 5-weeks and call them out. Embarrass them. Go to their offices in groups WITH CAMERAS.

Go to their houses in groups WITH CAMERAS. Upload your videos to the net. Call the local media and tell them when and where you will be doing these things.

I challenge you to be a Pain In The Ass in any peaceful way possible.

I challenge you to hold your heads high and act like the Sovereign Free Men and Women that you were born to be.

Yes I notice how you fail to quote anything out of the actual bill and instead rely on views from the msm for your information.

LOL! You just caleed Kro an Obamabot?!! This post is the PERFECT example of jumping to conclusions just because someone doesn't agree with you. Kro is certainly NOT an "Obamabot".

LOL...

By the way, try using a counter argument next time. Labeling someone doesn't do a single thing to prove your point.

Obama is an idiot and should not be elected to even local office again as he has proven over and over again that he does not have the ability to lead even a boy scout troop.

I don't see any other posts or comments that he has posted to prove otherwise.

So it doesn't fast track bills through both houses? or prevent amendments on bills it brings to the floor for a vote? It also doesn't stop filibusters on the bill they bring to the floor of the senate? It doesn't bypass the speaker of the house power's as to when to bring a bill forward?

Nice to know your so well informed ... but don't expect me to take your word for it.

rules.house.gov... ...

page 65 ...

MOTION TO PROCEED.—Notwithstanding Rule XXII of the Standing Rules of the Senate, it is in order, not later than 2 days of session after the date on which a joint committee bill is reported or discharged from all committees to which it was referred, for the majority leader of the Senate or the majority leader’s designee to move to proceed to the consideration of the joint committee bill.

page 66 ...

CONSIDERATION.—All points of order against the joint committee bill and against consideration of the joint committee bill are waived. Consideration of the joint committee bill and of all debatable motions and appeals in connection therewith shall not exceed a total of 30 hours which shall be divided equally between the Majority and Minority Leaders or their designees. A motion further to limit debate on the joint committee bill is in order, shall require an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members duly chosen and sworn, and is not debatable. Any debatable motion or appeal is debatable for not to exceed 1 hour, to be divided equally between those favoring and those opposing the motion or appeal. All time used for consideration of the joint committee bill, including time used for quorum calls and voting, shall be counted against the total 30 hours of consideration.

page 67 ...

(4) NO AMENDMENTS.—An amendment to the joint committee bill, or a motion to postpone, or a motion to proceed to the consideration of other business, or a motion to recommit the joint committee bill, is not in order.

page 68 ...

(d) AMENDMENT.—The joint committee bill shall not be subject to amendment in either the House of Representatives or the Senate.

well it was fun reading through all the legalese and guess what ....
everything everyone said about it is true - why am I not surprised by this?

BTW what made you so sure it wasn't - what was your source?? You and only you?
