Hi,

Lately I have developed a great taste for what is called intelligent electronic music, ambient in particular. I am in search of artist I haven't yet listened to.

Here is a list of artist I really enjoy and listen to(and therefor already know)

Aphex Twin
Plaid
Yasuma
Carbon Based Life Forms
Craig Padilla
Aes Dana
Solar Fields
Autechre
Ochre
Asura
Plone
Mystical Sun
Amon Tobin
Biosphere
Fennesz
Gescom
Orbital
Massive Attack

If anyone knows any artists in this type of genre, please be so kind to share them with me.

Thanks

hm... My ex-girlfriend used to listen to that genre in the car Non Stop and it drove me nuts. But that was more than a year ago. My ear might have changed. But at that time it stroke me as awfully repetitive and that whomp whomp was giving me headaches. But sure. We can try again.

Another good mainstream Dubstep is Skrillex. The arrangements are unpredictable and are rarely as repetitive as Deadmau5 can get... Great breakdowns that will blow your mind as well!

If you want to get some good stuff, download some of the Dub-level.com mixes. I give 50% of their selection a thumbs up

I am now listening to deadmau5 - sofi needs a ladder.

I think the beat is pretty damn brutal, but the woman singing is destroying it for me.

"Absolutely, digital technology has really dilute the physical quality and purpose of music, but it's sort of like how Warhol once put it: before, rich people wore rich-looking clothes and ate rich-looking foods, and poor had poor; now, the line between the rich and poor is really blurred. This applies to music, both mainstream and non-, nowadays, both can be obtained so easily, unlike only a few years ago you'd kill to find an LP of EN (if in the states, at least)."

I actually joined ATS to post in this thread. Been lurking around for a few weeks and your post pushed me over the edge to post.

Being an electronic musician I love all of this sort of stuff.

SO, based on your description of stuff you are into here are some people I would recommend.

-----
Telefon Tel Aviv (www.youtube.com...) - My favorite track from them. I love the contrast between cold harsh elements and soft beautiful elements.

Richard Devine (www.youtube.com...) It was hard for me to pick a track from him

Brian Eno (www.youtube.com...) I have listened to this album literally every night as I go to sleep for the past 5+ years. Probably my favorite ambient album.
-----
The above are my personal favorites, but additionally I recommend

Stars of the Lid (ambient)
Thundercat - Different from the stuff you posted, but I think his album coming out is phenominal.
Four Tet
Scuba
Tabla Beat Science
Moderat (Apparat and Modeselektor [both awesome producers])
Emeralds - AWESOME atmospheric album called 'Does It Look Like I'm Here'
I Broke My Robot

Sorry for so many! But I hope you enjoy! I love electronic music

I don't know if that is intelligent. I only used that term because that's how it's described and to avoid trance dance and stuff like that.

The music you shared is pretty interesting. The first 4 song are something I never heard before. The Venetian Strings is too aggressive for my taste. I will now listen to the rest.

Thanks.

Nice to see you joining!

I'm now listening to Telefon Tel Aviv - sound in the dark. You understand my taste very well, thanks. I will definitely listen to the other recommendations.

Thanks.

P.s. how about sharing your music?
