Well for most of us, we aren't going to dig into the vast archive of ATS info for something we don't know exists. It's nice to re-post things every once in awhile for those of us who may have missed it the first 5 times.

Actually though, I just took the time to load this and found that I had already seen this numerous times before, haha.

The video that's above, the youtube clip, is that an actual app or just a video of the size of the universe? Sounds off so I didn't watch the video in full

I found all those links on a page 1 ATS search, and considering that 1 page only has 10 links on it, I'd call that pretty significant. When I find something interesting, I usually search first to see if others are talking about it.

Seriously, why do these types of threads always receive so many flags? I've seen multiple threads on the picture based version get hundreds of flags, yet for some reason, they rarely get closed. Should I wait a couple more months and remake this thread and get a quick fifty flags or so? I hate to be like this, but I can only post "Wow, that's a cool .swf interpretation." so many times before I lose my mind.

Because some people miss them entirely, and bringing them up again helps in spreading information around.

Why do people like yourself get so worked up and upset over it? Do you really expect people so use the search function for things they don't know about?

Chill out, man.

It has been pointed out more times than I can count that duplicate threads are supposed to be closed. If there was a new angle to explore about a previous topic that deserved new attention, then I can understand that, but this thread presents nothing new and has pretty much the same discussions going on as...wait a minute, that avatar...

Oh, I see.

Carry on.

That's what sucks about it. All that we can do, is imagine it.

We have to accept that, but it still sucks, and is just not good enough. Regardless of whether I die tomorrow, or if I can somehow manage to continue keeping my blood flowing for another 80 years, chances are, I will die while still not knowing the truth about [color=CFECEC]what is actually out there.

But will anyone ever actually know? The ridiculous thing is, even with "Star Trek" level technology for space travel, it would take hundreds or thousands of years to even get to the closest galaxy to the Milky Way. It's almost stunning to realize how truly small we are in the scheme of things. It's that size of the universe that really makes me think that there's no way we are the only things here--how big of a waste of space would the rest of the Universe be?

It boggles the mind that people with archaic beliefs such as yours can still exist in the 21st century, but whatever floats your boat mate.

Our conclusions are based on analysis of verifiable data that can be drawn from using various different methods - all of which correlate perfectly.

Your conclusions are drawn from a collection of old books which have been edited, translated, edited, translated so many times any true meaning is lost. Forgetting the fact that it was never meant to be taken literally in the first place.

Bah, humbug. What a lot of nonsense. IMO, of course.

The cosmic distance ladder is a fairy tale, when there are so many negative parallax stars in
the Hipparcos catalog that I don't even trust parallax to be accurate beyond Pluto! Anything
beyond that is a guess. Read the free book, "A revolution in Astronomy" and try to
disprove what this guy is saying. Even the Vedic cosmology was far more accurate than what these mathematicians, not astronomers, are telling us.

IC1101 is sooo HUGE! Looked wikipedia and it is estimated there must be over 100 trillion stars, which is LOT. In our own galaxy, we have "only" 100-200 billion stars.
