Let me guess, Nibiru turns invisible? Seems that if it was real, it wouldn't magically appear and disappear. Probably is an optical illusion.

Any proof?

Common sense?

Or are you willing to prove it's something special?

What's going on? Life's Little Mysteries, a sister site to Space.com, asked Jim Kaler, the University of Illinois astronomer who squelched the excitement over the aforementioned exploding Betelgeuse and who has written books on the day and night sky. The double sun image is an effect of optical refraction, Kaler said, but it's a "pretty darn rare" one, and one not fully explained by science.

Common sense is a great tool, so why not use it to explain exactly what causes this second sun to appear.

You can´t, cause science can´t even explain it.

So what is common sense to you cannot be explained by science. How´s that working out?

The common sense that a second sun doesn't just magically disapear and appear at will? Common sense suggests that it's an optical illusion of some sort. Same like a straight object in water doesn't really bend but appears so.

Mjeah, it´s up for debate, all I´m saying is that none of the explanations sofar could be considered common sense, one is just less dramatic and easier to digest than the other, so don´t take a rigid position.

i think the second sun and the "sun's" position being seen occasionally out of whack are related.

i posted that on chadwickus's "the "sun's" position being seen occasionally out of whack" thread but he ignored me, maybe i'll get a reply here.

to those claiming optical illusion and then closing their minds firmly shut:

sure, but isn't such a thing a RARE event? why is it more common now? hmmm?

i'll skip more complicated explanations involving dimensional shifts and/or The Mystery of Perception.

Nikola014, it could very well be an optical illusion,

just a man-made one.

as in Project Bluebeam.

the "hum" some people are hearing [myself included] is the audio part being heard by people who are able to hear the frequencies being used during the tests.

It would have to be a supernatural event, because if it was a natural event, it breaks all the laws of physics, if it is indeed Nibiru or whatever. It just seems VERY likely to be a form of refraction, and that is one way of explaning that doesn't involve breaking any laws. For one thing, the effect it would have on gravity would be catastrophic.

Here we go again....There is NO way there could be anything that close without the whole planet being in chaos or destroyed. We would see it all the time.....planets and stars don't play peek a boo and only show themselves to "special" people. I can't believe people are serious about this. There is absolutely no way this can be. It's either internal reflections within the camera lenses, reflections from different panes of a double pane window, cloud reflections or various other completely innocuous reasons.

Someone's testimony that they saw two suns would be admissible in an American court of law as "proof". They would not have to qualify as an expert witness. Of course the jury might not believe them.

My take, people are looking for what they "feel". They look for visual confirmation of what one of their other senses is telling them. Don't people have some of that same stuff in their brains that birds have. It is now somewhat accepted that some people are capable of accurate dowsing of water because they can sense a gravitational fluctuation.

More proof? Is Saturn tilting just a little bit off the usual? Maybe not 90 degrees, but some? Again, the pictures give "some evidence" of this.

The big question, did Nibiru do this or did Elenin (magnetar?) do this? Rumors that some Chinese scientists say an object is following Elenin? Why should the Chinese or Russian governments care if the American people are warned?

Because of the high tech nature of the American culture the bad effects of unusual magnetic pulses would be greatest here or in an industrialized society, like Japan.

It is the same video...this is the video from this thread

and this is the video from www.abovetopsecret.com... it starts at 20 seconds

and this is the translation from the second video

She says, "Tonight's headline story, we have a video given to us today, by a man who claims he saw and filmed 2 suns this afternoon." Male anchor man says, "The sun appears to be reflected in the clouds to cause an optical illusion, but the man who took this video insists he was seeing two suns." Man interviewed, "I know this sounds absurd, but I when I was filming my family, I saw two suns among the clouds and filmed it. I do not know how else to explain it

The original thread says the video was aired on china TV

At first I thought it was an optical illusion, but when I watched it the second time it looked like the 'two suns' were actually one sun with a cloud covering it in just such a way as to make it appear to be two... the thin strip of cloud down the center kinda cut the sun in half and the rest of the cloud cover made it look like there were two suns there.

There is one thing the bugs me about the two suns and two moons thing. We (for the most part) agree it is some thing of optical illusion. But here it the part that bugs me. The history of the whole thing is short. I have looked and looked and I can not find any history of this. There is no "In 1850 ......" or thing like that. It seems to only be in the last few years and mostly in the last year or so. So my question is why now/ What has changed to make this optical illusion happen now? And why is it not seen by every one all the time? Will that soon be the case? A lot of people (including me) have ideas and theories but no way to prove or dissprove any of them. No one with the means to do so is doing so. The cause of this optical illusion needs to be found and proven to be the right cause.

Oh, O.K., just like Nasa's recent re-evaluation of how they understand comets.

Man, in his quest for knowledge, has become quite arrogant, to say the least.

While the knowledge he has gained has been impressive, The infinite God, and yes with a big G, has a few tricks up his sleeve..................

God=science=what little we do know about physics........I think it is safe to say, He can tweek his own laws when it fits Him.

I would take all these anomalies we are seeing in the skies as a fair warning.

I just wanna know where the videos and/or pics of this phenomenon are from the past? Why is this suddenly a big deal all over the world? If it is just a natural occurence or whatever, how come there are no older pics, video of it?

I googled it and can't find anything older than a coupla years ago.....so, if it has always happened, why is it only being recorded now? Maybe someone more internet savvy than me can find some older evidence of this phenomena, cause I just can't swallow "two suns" or 'Nibiru". But, what IS happening?

This thread has become something else.

If you all want to comment on the nature of science and mankind's understanding, I think there's a philosophy forum around here somewhere.

The facts stand. The footage is very real. It's interpretation is not. This is very much an optical illusion.

For those arguing that this is footage from Taiwan and not China... check out a map. The two are very close together. No doubt regional news would have a certain weight in the area. If you look at the footage and compare it to the earlier case, you'll see that the footage itself is actually the same. This is not a new event.

For others launching ad hominem attacks in an attempt to discredit myself and the facts, I suggest you review the T&C which are so commonly thrown in my face without merit. This will be the only response you get to such attacks. Regardless of whatever reason you are intimidated by me, I urge you to check my facts and if I am wrong, correct me. Preferably with sources. By all means, if I'm missing the mark entirely here, then let's find the truth together.

The sort of mirage effect of this may be a recent phenomena. It's not hard to imagine that Asia's swelling population and lax environmental regulation has led to a fairly thick cover of smog and pollution. It seems to me that this pollution has caused this event.
