Showing that once again, Bush has absolutly NO Idea what he's doing. Yes, he's trying to persuade military families to vote for him in spite of his disastrous wars.

Any thoughts on the possibility of something actually happening, natural or man made? Maybe they are preparing for martial law? or something. I am not trying to be an doomsayer but I just think it to be a little odd that 3 years after the start of the war on terror he decides to move 70,000 troops because they are no longer needed at thier cold war positions and they are needed for the war on terror. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

There is a reason for everything. It's unfortunate that our gov't is so secret that we never really know the truth behind any of their motives. I would think that if they were anticipating something large scale on our soil then they would have these soldiers back now to get ready. Why wait until the end of the year?

First thing I thought of was martial law. Cynical me!

I reckon something is going to kick off soon. Something BIG.

Sound to me, he's trying to appeal to people looking at Libertarians, and people sick of our troops being stationed all over the world.

Sorry Bush, you can't fool me. Once a Republican, always a Republican.

I seen the speach he gave when he was talking about this in cincy. He said send them other places a number of times.

man so many of you are just flat out stupid or highly ignorant. the call is for 70,000 troops to come home over the next decade, not immediately. furthermore i find this very funny...germany actually has problems with u.s. troops leaving its country. it appears many public services (companies) are somewhat dependent on the revenue the troops present. now germany doesn't want to lose that money.

All I can say is keep an eye on Bush...not only is he pandering for the vetran vote/military family vote...but there is something else up his sleeve...it's about time for another bait and switch situation to come up...but it has to be done with a little more stealth than in past years due to the upcoming elections.

sorry...I do not trust Bush or his cronies....they do not have the best interests of THE PEOPLE in mind...only their own interests.

Our President, our Vice-President, and the President's father all own stock in American companies that supply troops at war, and are involved in the reconstruction of Iraq.
So my question is: how much money have they made so far?

In some countries they may call this a conflict of interest. Some might call it treason. What do we as Americans call it?
