So yeah.. As the title says. I have double/trailing vision, pins and needles, and 50 other symptoms that I"m not gonna get into right now cuz it's kinda personal. You know why? When I was younger I was picked on a lot about being fat. I went on a diet. It involved diet code red and about 200 calories of other stuff a day. I developed dystonia. Told the doctors I though it was from diet soda. They told me I was crazy. A few years later I went on a diet. Mind you, it was a much more healthy diet and I only drank like one 1 liter of diet soda a day. After about a month everything started going to hell. Got 3 mri's. Nothing shows up on them. They won't do a spinal tap or mri my back or anything. My life is falling apart and it's becuase of diet soda.
I'm going #ing blind and the doctors don't even know why. Well I do. I normally wouldn't talk about this but I am drunk. It's my nighttime right now. Work overnights and all. Anyway... Seeing anything that involves artificial sweetener makes my blood pressure go up and I feel like I am having an ms relapse or something. I actually avoid this site every time I see a top post talking about the dangers of aspartame because I just can't handle it. Fml... iheogfiwhj gfirnewoview

Im sorry to hear about your problems, my aunt and cousins both hammer the aspartame, and won't listen or even google its dangers.

1. Get a Chelation done once a week. easy to learn about online
2. Do a one month cabbage diet, my wife tried this and lost significant weight, skin clearer than ever. Also info avail online

these thing will definitely not hurt to try.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried a lot of things. Most ms diets are HARD to keep up. Like a gluten free diet. It's almost impossible. All they have is gluten free spaghetti pretty much lol... Yeah... I'll google that first one later on.

Well I drank a lot more than 1 a day so I think you'll be okay. Getting away from it is still a terrific idea though. I feel like a #ing gaunie (tried spelling it like 5 times and nothing correct came up, to lazy to google atm) pig. Stay healthy

I cannot express how sorrowful I feel reading your words.
Looking at this in a different way, one would almost have more respect for some punk walking up , stabbing you in the eyes and running off with your money ( at least its direct, up front and almost honest) when compared to the covert way they trick you into getting really sick and dependent on the medical establishment, as early as they can in life.
What kills me is that you cannot find gum on the shelf in stores that doesnt have aspartame as an ingredient. By the way, leave that gum in the sun for a bit, like in your car, etc, and this wonderful ingredient turns into formaldehyde. Yummey !
When we do this to our own people, what chance do we stand advancing as a civilization?
Or is it our own ppl doing this to us??

My step father's death I belive can be blamed on YEARS of diet coke consumption. 2-1ltr bottles a day! He broke his leg just getting into his car....found out that night he had bone cancer eatting away at every bone in his body, later found bladder cancer, and a brain tumor.
My mother drinks tons od diet soda, and complains about feeling sick all the time. She is over weight, with a multitude of health problems. Aspertame is some seriouse stuff! I don't drink ANYTHING with artifical sweeteners.

I hope you get this thing resolved, maybe an alternative med doctor will be more open to your thoughts. Find the "hippie/earth people" in your area and ask them where the "witch doctor" is.LOL Sounds funny but I no longer see an MD for my problems. Get well!

Honestly herbal solutions is all I really trust. I mean I would take some prescription meds but they can't even figure out what is wrong. I am gonna go to an acupuncture place and see if that helps anything. I kinda believe that my karma is what caused made this happen and the aspartame is the scientific cause to explain the effect, if that makes any sense.

Is it killing you? This could be ankylosing spondylitis. Did you get a gene test hla-b27 done? This gene is related to auto-immune issues.

I would try a low carb/low starch diet before a gluten free diet. All of that spaghetti could be causing inflammation.

I don't know. It doesn't sound like it could be that but I will bring it up at the doctors. I take magnesium oxide for inflammation which kinda helps. I dunno...

I am sorry to hear you are feeling this way. Please, please find a way to get off the artificial sugar.

I had a brother in law who drank a lot of diet products. He was diagnosed with stage 5 cancer years back. The first thing the dr asked him was how much diet products he consumed. Same thing with a good friend of mine who had another form of cancer. Different cancers, different specialist dr.'s asked the same question. Makes you really think.

Anyway, great advise so far. Worth checking out all your options to feel better.

Have you tested your PH levels? If you are to acidity in your PH levels that can really cause major health issues.

Here is an article to read regarding Aspartame and MS symptoms.

Hugs to you!

Thanks but I discontinued the use of it at least a year or two ago. It's something permanent now. With multiple affects.

That's good news! Glad you kicked that habit.

I would def check out a natural/homeopathy type dr vs mainstream. But that's just me. It can't hurt to see if you have any locally, make a few calls and see if they wont speak to you before making an appointment.

I have also found that a lot of the natural vitamin places have some VERY knowledgeble people working there. I visited one recently, the Vitamin Shop, and the woman was AMAZING! She really knew her stuff. I was quite impressed.

Man, i've known people that have been drinking aspartame and nutrisweet for years and never heard about this kind of stuff happening to them. Maybe these chemicals effect people with certain genetic disorders? Whnever i look for sugar free drinks i usually spread them between aspartame and stevia. I really dont think the problem is aspartame though. Usually when something like this happens it was happening for years slowly, until the symptoms went from barely noticeable to in your face noticeable. Disorders and diseases just dont happen overnight. unfortunately what some people dont realize is that cancer, if it runs in your family, then you have a very likely chance of developing it. my mother has smoked cigarettes from the time she was 15 to now and shes 60 years old and she hasnt the slightest sign of cancer and she gets tested every year. Cancer doesn't run in either side of my family, although my grandfather did get it in his stomach, the doctors misdiagnosed it as testicular cancer (how the hell you misdiagnose cancer in your balls to being in your stomach is beyond me), and they castrated him, in the end it wasnt the cancer that killed him. They overdosed him on chemo and the chemo destroyed his esophagus and he starved to death. His cancer was stage 1 and he would've beaten it if the doc's and screwed up and accidentally killed him with an overdose.

So not only did they misdiagnose my grandfathers cancer, they then castrated him on that misdiagnosis, and then once they finally got the diagnosis right, they had a med error and overdosed him on chemo which led to his death. I begged my mother to sue the doctor and the hospital, but she had a moment of stupidity and let them slide. They cost me my grandfather, he died when i was 11, he was Irish and it was his wish before he died to teach me his language as his legacy to me, and these incompetent doctors cost me and my brother my grandfathers last years.

How can you drink a litre of diet coke a day?

Try a full detox diet - first three days are horrible.

If you think aspartame is the issue, then dont drink it.

I'll agree, drastic changes in diet are hard to keep up with! I've cut pop out of my diet all together...unless of course it's cherry cola with malibu, but I digress. I try to tell people of the reason WHY you shouldn't drink diet pop...it is SO bad for you. My parents drink it a lot and I try to tell them about it and, well, at least now they use Tom's of Maine deodorant and toothpaste instead of national brands. If you want pop, try club soda with fruit juices in it-I do to get in my craving for carbonation!

Anyhow, thanks for sharing your story, even if it started out as a drunk rant (those are quite fine by me!
) Hopefully it will serve as a warning to others. Please take care!
