Not impressed.

The math he scribbles on the window is nothing more that basic level calculus. For one he does not look smart. hopefully in a year he will be forgotten about.

Finally, pellian, please explain why this 12 year old prodigy should be "forgotten about."

i tell you why this kid should be forgotten about is because he is just an average kid who has a photographic memory. A real kid genius would have crippling levels of social anxiety and behave like a complete and look like a complete spaz. I would like to see him complete a Fourier series expansion in spherical coordinates.

Autistic boy,12, with higher IQ than Einstein develops his own theory of relativity

www.stumbleupon.com

A 12-year-old child prodigy has astounded university professors after grappling with some of the most advanced concepts in mathematics.

Jacob Barnett has an IQ of 170 – higher than Albert Einstein – and is now so far advanced in his Indiana university studies that professors are lining him up for a PHD research role.

The boy wonder, who taught himself calculus, algebra, geometry and trigonometry in a week, is now tutoring fellow college classmates after hours.

This is a scam brought on by the mother for financial gains. Look at their youtube site, they are taking "donations." Yeah...

This kid is smart but he is not smarter than your average physicist. If he is as smart as everyone claims then he would not need money donations or attention whoring.

I wonder how much his parentrs are to blame. I hope there's not something else driving him. I hope it's him. I know that there're amazing people in this world. Some kids I grew up with in school, though not as smart as himn, could run circles around me. They really were smart, they didn't just look smart. It makes me feel very very dumb. Maybe I should get a club and live in a cave. I wish him the best this world needs more brains anyway so we can cope.

According to the mom, he released a scientic theory to be peered reviewed. He is intelligent he comes up with his own stuff and he doesn't not just have a photographic memory

Are you telling the OP off for reviewing his decision to post the thread after considering it may be old news?

And then THANKING the op for posting it?

What an odd post.

Sounds like someone is jealous that a 12 yr. old kid is smarter than himself. Maybe someone had dreams of being a scientist of some sort... Get over your self bub.

He does not look smart? Really? What does smart look like? Can you post a picture of yourself so we may also decide whether you are smart or not?

Cancel that.... Your post (above) supplies more than sufficient evidence.

I once watched my friend's eight year old autistic brother take apart an entire television set, and then put it back together. We asked him "What have you done, you need to fix this right now!" We were not trying to be mean, we were just teenagers who wanted our television. When we asked him how he could fix this, he replied "I remember where all the parts go", and he did. He was only eight, so he had no experience with televisions or electronics. There were dozens of pieces laying around, but he had no problem putting them back together.

Unless you have seen this, you would not believe it. He also can tell you what the day of the week is for any date that you give him, like what was the day of the week on July 4, 1888? He said that he "sees" it. Amazing. So I never doubt the abilities of autistic children, it is just hard to harness their ability, because they do not think or necessarily behave like the rest of us, as they see the world very differently.

I thought this is another wonder boy that is newly discovered. This story has been posted here before. Nice story though.

True genius is a mix of creativity/intellect and imagination, it's a very rare combination.
Unfortunatly autistic people are incabable of abstract or creative thought, so don't expect
to see this boy unraveling the mysteries of the universe anytime soon.

It is interesting to me the after experiencing this first hand for years (my brother in law and a friend). I begin to see the pattern in may successful and extremely talented - or bizarrely strange people.

Read Ayn Rand consider her beliefs and think aspergers.
