Facts..

Its a sky cam, normally on towers, high towers normally have lights for safety reason

The item isn't instantly seen, it appears to become illuminated and also as it heads to the bottom of the frame suddenly stops being illuminated.

For me that's a thing being caught in a light source.

That light source would only illuminate something near the camera as as its like a pin point on the screen I'd say that makes it small both on screen and if its being lit up by the light near the camera also makes it small.

That's what I see but then again I'm not trying to turn this into something amazing even though I am a believer.

I also add that if it was a meteor then by its nature it would be self illuminated and seen instantly on the clip.

I think the dimming of it is just the change in the angle of the insect as it swoops down.
Instead of seeing it's illuminated wings, we see it from it's side.
I'm going 100% bug on this one.

As for the person who said the video was time lapsed, it looks normal to me, idk.

As opposed to it being logical that its an intelligently controlled craft of small size or a meteor that only illuminates in the light beam?

I never said what it is, because i don't know what it is. The sad fact is some people can't hold their hands up and say "i don't know what it is" and thats because their belief will not let them. Where do you think all these stupid ufo explanations come from?. Thats right, they come from belief.

Surely the whole point of this being in Alien and UFO is to determine if its native to earth, man made, alien or unrecognised.

Sigh!

Im not saying its ET. Im not saying its anything because we just don't know. But that does not mean im going to give into explanations that don't make any sense at the moment. And it does not make any sense. Are you telling me that if this is a bug, then it does not matter if we only see this once? That does not make sense at all.

At the moment the nearest we can really go is unrecognised surely.

I think we can rule out bugs, as there is no evidence whatsoever that this is a bug.

I don't see how a seconds worth of blip in a light source can be anything more fantastic than a bug, I've seen loads of movies on here where people film at night with real lights (ie not night vision) and you see no bugs at all or maybe one

If its a bug, then there would be hundreds of the same thing every night. Simply go watch the cam and see if you see the same thing again. Its just not logical that just one bug would show up, esp if its attracted to a light on the cam. It just does not make sense.

People...

This is an insect pure and simple.
I am all about anything UFO related but...
This is something I would expect to see uploaded and followed on Art Bell's old show.
Please don't make me face palm again, my face is getting sore.

In all honesty, it looked like a bug flying very close to the lens. I'm sure its hot in texas and there's plenty of bugs day and night. As always, I don't deny there's the possibility of alien contact with earth, I just don't feel this is any kind of strong evidence to that effect.

Jay,

I'm not on here to have a pitch battle with you, I just disagree with you on that its can't be a bug.

I saw an item swoop down in from of a camera on a very high sky camera on a tower, I had not noticed on the page it stated it was a sky camera tower. There would have been a light on that tower in maybe more than one place.

Most normal bugs would not be up that far.

So it might be a moth or maybe a small bird or bat.

Beyond that I don't know but you are saying all the reasons I have used are not true or logical even thought they very clearly are. All I can say at the moment is that *I* think its very much of this world and not man made.

Nice to see that the people saying "its a bug, plain and simple" are not answering the question, why are we not seeing many of these bugs in the cam? Please please post evidence that there are many of these bugs that fly near the camera. And don't ask me to provide evidence that its ET, because i don't know what it is. You are saying its a bug, so post evidence that proves that.

It annoys me that people come to conclusions, even when they don't make sense, just because they don't like to leave things unexplained. But hey, thats belief for ya!

This is where I've been at from the start. These kinds of things go on a case by case basis, where not every case is exactly the same as the last. This thread has moved in a positive direction in my eyes when some of the so called "debunkers" started posting their Depth of Field information along with asking the questions as to where the camera is located. There are a lot of important details that need to be hashed out. You see this kind of thing in mathmatics too which follows logic.

1 - its a real number
2 - its a real number
sqrt(1) -its a real number
sqrt (2) -its an irrational real number
sqrt(-1) - not a real number

There is an explanation for every last one of these occurrences, and you can't get to the bottom of any of it without hashing out the details.

In what way?

We know its small for a fact

We know it was close to the camera

We know it was close to the light.

How?

Because the item was illuminated by the light by the camera, it very clearly enters the light beam and then exits the same light beam, as its not a mega powerful light it would have only illuminated what was pretty close to the camera.

So its flying, small and near the light...

And you rule out bug / moth...How?

I'm not being rude, I'm using the facts as seen and common sense.

I'm not completely ruling out the "bug" theory. There's a chance it could be one, for all the reasons you posted.

I'm saying, to me, it doesn't look like one. Obviously, this is based on my own conjecture and observation of bugs, seen at night, whilst illuminated by light, haha. I don't know what it is. I'm not going to be able to discern anything concrete from a very short video with crappy quality, so consider me on the fence, leaning towards "probably not bug", and more towards "I really don't know."

Oh, and I know you're not being rude. Thanks.

This is an interesting post Op

But, i would like to add my thoughts on what it could have been.

I have seen shooting stars, 3 or 4 in a row and it reminded me

very much of that. Shooting Stars.

If it was a meteor miles away, or an alien space-ship, I'm sure the same thing would have been picked up by a few dozen cameras all over the city, and maybe a couple of eye-witnesses too. I think it's just a little bug caught in the light off something as others have said.

I am a graphics and web designer, and from what I see is a moth's wings reflecting. Remember, it's nighttime-What is lighting up a UFO from above it? Nothing. The light from the building near the moth is creating the light. You see it's wings flap before it ascends, and just before it leaves sight of the camera-hence the change in light reflection.

It's a bug. The light dims for a second because the bug moved causing less light to refract off of it at the same angle. Then the bug flies back up and is illuminated by light once again.

I live right outside of Ft. Worth so this excites me. Just last night I saw an unusual craft (most likely a plane and I was just at an odd angle) glowing bright red on and off slowly, but I always see "UFOs" because well that's what I'm looking for. I think this is a really good video, I don't think the insect theory works though it looks like it's too far off even if it's a bug.

All this time reading ATS and I finally have something to add.

I work at NBC here in Fort Worth. The Camera in question is on the OMNI building in downtown Fort Worth and at that point was facing just a bit South of East. So generally you are looking down I 30 toward Dallas.

The camera has no light source near it.

I have watched that camera, and adjusted it, more times than I can remember. If it was a bug, you would have thought I would have seen something like that before, but I have not, ever.

I do not know what it was, but I wanted to add or clarify some information here. The camera was not pointing toward the old Carswell and I do not believe it was a bug, because at least once, I feel like I would have seen something similar.

Oddly enough on Monday night at about 9:15pm coming home from a blowout Ranger baseball game my son and I saw the best meteor I have ever seen. I was traveling on N820, near Rufe Snow heading west.

Maybe just coincedence but odd none the less. This link has some information and a video of the meteor. There were several sightings over the course of a few days.

elpasoallsky.blogspot.com...

When first saw the NBC Skycam video, I thought oh wow, they caught the one I saw on skycam, but my meteor never turned like that, it broke up into two or three pieces just before it disappeared..

Its like the craft came out of hyperwarp alittle late and said "OH (SNIP)!!!" FULL REVERSE FULL REVERSE!!!
Silly ET's when will they learn not to let the -slow- alien work on their warpdrive navi systems?
