You're the first to respond in many situations simply because there isn't a place on Earth where you haven't got military forces that can get there quicker than others. Bollocks to you doing it 'out of the goodness of your hearts' too.

You make it sound as if the rest of us don't lift a finger to help. Like we down here in Australia don't lift a finger to help the Asia-Pacific region (just an example). Where was the US during the East Timor war? Did you even know there was a war in East Timor? Didn't think so.

You don't know as much about the workings of the rest of the world as you think you do.

Now I am not stating that other countries are not great in thier own rights, but they still pale in comparison to the US because of that one document. The Consitution of the United States of America, and to respond to another post about the Second Amendment, it is there to PROTECT AND DEFEND that document - get over it, end of story.

Please explain the Patriot Act then, in reference to your constitution.

Oh no you can't can you?

Greatest country on Earth? Pffffft.

You know mate, out of all that i typed you really did a narrow view of what i said.

Since WW2 when a nation requested help from natural disaster or what have you, 99.9% of the time first on the list to ask from is the US. I never said we were the only ones who helped, and yes our military IS unfortunatley all over the world, I also said BRING THEM BACK TO US SOIL. Even with doing that your right we could STILL respond to anywhere in the world faster than just about any other nation. When we have natural disasters here in the states, who steps up to even remotely just OFFER to send help when we loose a town to a tornado floods, earthqaukes. NO ONE. Once just ONCE, during Katrina did we get forigen help.

As for Austrailia and tons of Aussie mates who I love dearly, i have a lot of admiration for them. You however seem to had sadly missed the point I was making. I have friends from all over the world, and admiration for most of the cultures there too.

and as for the Patriot Act... that is part of the corruption mate.

and dont assume you know what i know in history, I study history, and it irks me we are making some of the same mistakes as in the past.

Sorry for coming across so harshly mate, I am just fed up with the Americans who chant "USA USA - We Are The Greatest" yet all the while the country is falling apart around them. They are the ones who are holding up progress and change, and the corruption and filth as a result filters through to the rest of us.

Your Constitution gives you the right to overthrow corrupt governmets right? Every American I speak to says the same thing though "It's not us it's our Government". It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together and realise that while you yell oh-so loudly about how your Constitution makes you the greatest country on Earth yet nobody lifts a finger to follow it. Talking and arguing about it is not taking pro-active steps to follow it. When I see this, my attitude will change but until then I reserve the right to be angry at the country that is screwing it up for all of us.

Well unfortunatly mate, the Aussie government isn't doing any better in the let's not piss off the rest of the world bit, as are the majority of the governments around the world. This is an unfortunate fact. However yes there are millions of Americans that ARE trying to fix things, this takes time. As for the overthrowing of the government, you think the world is in dire straights, you realize if there was a violent revolt in the US, another Civil War in America (and no I am not advacating this) the repercussions would be global, plain and simple.

The difference is when the US sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold. When Australia sneezes, it's only us and maybe a few close neighbours that suffer the consequences. We are tired of suffering for the mistakes of another country - as is the rest of the world.

Yes, but that is a necesary consequence of overthrowing regimes. We all know that to change things is going to require a little hardship to do so and are fully prepared to accept and deal with this.

I cant argue any of that. I am an american and I get aggrivated by most americans. We do act like we know everything and can do anything, but it is not our fault. We are not stupid, just ignorant, and it was alwayse planned to be that way. We are the youngest country in the mix of things, and our grand achivement is the largest, most powerful military on earth. All we do is war since we were born. However the people who are running this country and manipulating our people, They are not ignorant to the bigger picture, everyone is in on it and alwayse has been. I do belive we are a british colony, and our "freedome" is an illusion to avoid a "real" revolution in america. See we are really all on the same side, against the european bankers and thier friends.

Let's be clear what we're talking about here-
The media in other countries doesn't do much criticism of America at all, government officials in other countries (that are not enemies already) don't usually make critical comments either, unless responding to a criticism directed at their country by an american government official.

It seems what we're really trying to get at is the criticism that comes from foriegners in social contacts, discussions such as on message boards, or in person, between regular citizens. Right?

Change the topic, and imagine sitting in a room with a group of people. Ones that say "I am great!" will maybe get a few brows to pull together in their direction, but not much of a reaction. The ones that say nothing about themselves will be ignored, the ones that critisize themselves will probably get some others trying to boost them up- pointing out their good qualities or strengths, or giving them advice on how to easily overcome their problem.

The one that says, "I am great! .....And you all are a bunch of losers with lousy lives, all slaves to your spouse, gutless wussies, living in poverty and eating filth and jealous of me!"
What do you see the others' most likely reactions to THAT one to be???

We do have some influence and impact on our experiences and how others react to us!

so how does the US constitution defend anyone who is from the US , that has been deemed a terrorist suspect and can then be held for an incredible length of time without protection from the constitution.
Then also how does the constitution then defend you when the president has the power to determine you a threat to the US and detain you in gauntanamo for an indefinite length of time without a proper trial from a justice board .

The world currency is the US dollar. Everyone but the US buys dollars. The US just prints them, lots of them. Would You have a problem if You were outside the US, watching the richest Country in the World buy everything with fiat money?

nobody would hate the USA if you weren't all so arrogant and ignorant as a general majority. People in the south think we live in igloos and drive dogsleds to work in Canada. like REALLY?? how centred and focused are you just on your self and your own country that you know nothing about the rest of the developed world. If you could get over yourselves and how great you are then no one would hate you. I'm canadian but I hate the government here, and by no means think this is the best country to live or work or any of the above, no one country is better than another but it comes across as though americans think they are the cats ass and their country is so great.

the longer you are drawing breath the more people you are going to meet right here in the USA that are ashamed of what our government directs our military to do, and rightly so. patriotism is a motivational tool used to sway young people to join the military, thinking they are going to help, to make a difference, to do the right thing. in the years to come you will meet young veterans who have been there done that and found out they were horribly mislead.

as the years go by you will see the trend for our politicians to say one thing and do another time and time again. you will realize every day working slobs take it up the pipe cradle to grave while the rich and the powerful do as they damn well please, regardless of what may be good for the voters, the taxpayers, the old, the young, the ill, the veterans, the homeless, etcetera.

some day you will read what The Federal Reserve is supposed to do and have done, then you can find out what they actually did.

some day you may read what Foreign Aid really is. it's right on our .gov website and it's enough to make one vomit.

America is probably the most vile, sinful, horrible country of the world. we are responsible for more death, destruction, suffering, chaos, manipulation, unending greed and unchecked piggish consumption than any other country. that we citizens don't rise up and kill the evil overlords of politics, finance and many corporate structures leaves cartoon strip-like swirl marks constantly appearing above my perplexed, furrowed brow.

buy a few newspapers and read about how many shootings and killings took place in America last weekend. people in other countries see and read news about this country. can you imagine what they must think? most people do not live like we do.

turn on your big screen TV and check out how many Reality TV shows depict and glorify the absolute worst human behavior. many countries don't allow many American TV programs to air for fear their people will turn into pieces of crap as well.

you don't have to look outside America to find why this country is hated. ask the millions of native people that were slaughtered and ask the surviving Indians what has become of their land, their cultures, their people. read up on what the USA government has done for those people.

go to Wal-Mart after Wal-Mart across America and admire the herds of overweight white trash grazing on cheap imported products while their sticky-faced overfed crotchfruit run amuck up and down the aisles.

It's those low, low prices, man. That's why everybody hates America.

It is true that our entertainment industry (the news included) has gone for the base common denominator. It is a surprise that "Nude News" did not make the mainstream but a friend of mine said that while the women doing the broadcasts were nude, it would not work in the USA since their reports were too analytical and used big words most Americans munching on their doritos and drinking beer would not be able to understand.

"Billy Ray! The neked girl just said something about hypor...hyper inflaton. Is your pickup tire hyper inflatid?"

a page back someone cried that the reason its so great is because of the constitution,
you probably agree superballs

and now here you are agreeing that the constitution doesnt protect you from a # evil government doing things to you , and you still want to defend your government.

Talking patriotic americans who are brainwashed by government propaganda is like banging your head of a wall or taking a piss on an electric substation

Look, I completely agree that IF an Empire existed that treated everyone fairly, oppressed nobody and prospered greatly, it would be a momentous achievement in the history of history. But saying the US is anywhere near these standards is a leap at best and an outright lie at worst. While it may have started off looking to be a Utopia, it succumbed to corruption and rot within.

While on the subject of TREATING EVERYONE FAIRLY, what about the Natives and Immigrants in Australia?
Especially the Indian students and IT workers ?
Whats up with that?

You think there is zero corruption, no oppression and great prosperity in Australia for Everyone?
Common be realistic.

RACISM_IN_AUSTRALIA

Sensationalism is one thing but lets be Realistic here please. I think you're a victim of MMSM (Massive Main Stream Media) propoganda scattered across the globe against the US. Your conclusion is true and I agree that not every US citizen is a brilliant pupil but its not their fault. Its the education system which eventually will/hopefully fix its curriculum if you think that average americans dont know much about their own country.

That doesn't mean they're dumb. Most americans are very hard working individuals. Smartness and Intelligent are two different things. Anyone with a good memory can reproduce the questions doesn't mean they're smart
Its just that they're too fascinated with OTHER country's general knowledge and thus more people outside the US know about US since they cherish the American Culture. This is the truth.

My boss once told me that if you're doing your job, people will make noise
This is certainly the case with US with its international presence, many nations will present their viewpoints about the US (propoganda or not). Now I agree that not every job is a clean one. There are dirty jobs and there are not so dirty jobs that the US gets involved around the world. Not every time its their own agenda and motive that they're after but there are several countries involved including Australia too. Especially when international actions are based and approved on votes from several nations. I feel some envy/jealousy in your comments throughout the thread with the global buzz about US's popularity (good or bad).

When I saw the title I thought the reference was 9/11/01 was the attack on America
from outside. Unless he could prove different like the internet tries to do.

America is in every country with wealth and people from every country pop in to get rich.
Attacks come with the territory from sore losers.

Sure every country in any age can claim some sort of computer.
Playing on basic human reactions is a network of elites that move in for their advantage.
Play the advantages and outcomes is one way to figure out the attacks.
