I go out of my way to pay a bit extra to support local small businesses (when I can afford to forgo Walmart or other chains
), but all I can do is shake my head at your neighbor's effort to 'support' a brother. He fails to realize we are all brethren. The Bible teaches we all come from Adam and Eve, so that means each of us belong to the same big happy family.

Jesus Christ spent the vast majority of his ministry spreading love, forgiveness, and compassion. He dwelt in the presence of 'sinners'. If Jesus went to all of the sinners and chastised them, do you think multitudes would have followed him? Not at all. Jesus was a man that spread Love and Understanding, not down-talking or separation.

Peace and Love to us all

I would love to hear how exactly you can "debunk" heaven?

Really... i gotta hear this.

I agree,I have noticed that when you ask someone to 'debunk' God or Heaven the first thing they say is 'prove that they exist'.

And what happened to the OP LOL no comment since.

The problem is no one can "debunk" the afterlife, its illogical and completely impossible...

How do you debunk something that can't be seen / experienced until said debunker is dead?

My best guess is when who ever dies and they don't come back to tell you about the after life, that automatically means it doesn't exist...

This thread started with a rediculous premise... and further more i can't believe people flagged it.

Wtf is up with Ats lately.

I do believe there is a God, Creator, some higher being that acted as a sort of influence in respect to the universe & intelligent life. Almost like a programmer/artist who brings life through code and vision. However, I find the God of the Bible to be self-conflicting, contradictory; and the scripture to even be horrifying at times. There is an extreme fear seed as the basis for the rest of the entire doctrine: love the Biblical God or suffer for 'eternity'. The key terms here being eternity and an existence indivisible from pain. This exploitation of the human psyche, especially when taught from childhood, extorts a false love/sense of devotion from the individual.

Now, is it possible? I suppose. Nearly anything is possible, including the notion that your own belief system here on Earth acts as causation for the afterlife experience; in which case atheist might have it the worst. Because they didn't believe in an afterlife, the afterlife might be "nothing", or non-existence, or your isolated consciousness suspended in eternity. However, this is where Pascals wager being a false dichotomy comes into play; a Christian cannot say that they choose to believe because even if they're wrong there's nothing to lose. What if that be the case for ANY other religion on the planet, and you actually do have something to lose?

I know what the OP means by saying Christians will try to debunk your arguments; but this is primarily because it's a specific faith vs logic & open mindedness. In that respect I think most atheist are just as close-minded as those that follow a religion primarily based out of fear. You won't debunk a Christian because it's FAITH. Even if there was some infallible evidence to disprove that Jesus really did miracles and was a drunkard, a Christian would say it's the work of Satan spreading lies to deceive you. And beyond that, where would you be if suddenly your one and only certain hope for eternal heaven was threatened?

The Biblical God confuses me, confounds me, disturbs me; the concept of omnipotence amazes me. Right now, I can't see myself loving a being who told me to love him or else burn forever; that being whom claims to be eternal love, empathy, forgiveness yet only reserves heaven for a handful that deny logic/philosophy. For the rest that can't come to believe in the words of a book, written and edited by man; if they're all damned from the start, then the Creator is flawed in his design.

My parents are Christian and I love them with the utmost; I don't question their beliefs either, because they are happy. Why would you try to rob one of their happiness? Because your ego tells you so? I won't throw around childish remarks such as "You believe in fairy tales"; so if I do debate the belief then it will be with deep thinking and meaningful questions.

Yeah.... I'm tired of these kinds of Christians. If you read the 4 Gospels, Jesus didn't act this way, nor did he tell others to.

I apoligize on this lousy excuse for a christians behalf. the definition of a christian is to be christlike and that is not being it I cannot believe this man calls himself a christian. let me assure you not all christians are that way

You do not need to apologize on his behalf. The Bible says;

"Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour."
1 Corinthians 3:8

I dare not categorize nor classify all Christians into any single group type. Nor shall I unto those of other faiths, non-faiths, cultures, or nations. We are a single humanity. Just as upright character transcends all societies, so to does hypocrisy.

All religion is a racket. Its simply a way to keep people hating each other. Always has been, always will. Its a control construct and a very cynical one at that. Untill we all wake up and realise that we are all just people and we are all the same, and cast away these destructive beliefs we will never ever progress as a species.

On the contrary, we are not all the same and never will be, until people like yourself can wake up and see that, nothing will ever change. Works both ways mate. Let's not pretend athiests, or those who long after the materialistic provide the safest world to live in.

Well because we always are silly
I am just messing with you.
If you have to classify me I am a christian but not really morespiritual.
Notallchristians believe in the holy trinity. Some of us go against the Constatine Cannon.
Which is the wide spread religion you see today.

How to explain GOD, Well I believe mathmatics to be his devine language. So therefor it is his signature in all is creation ie Golden Ratio's. Also people believe in other dimensions. The bible states his is a spiritual one while our's is a physical one. But I am more of a interdimensonal gal myself.
As in we all exsist on the same earth but on different plains.

The question then becomes to you OP, You cant see the wind but you feel it you know its there.
Is that truely different Then the spiritual dimension ie GOD, Jesus and the Angels.
I dont know thats up to you to decide. As always it is you're choice and I hold nothing against you in you;re choice. No skin off my back so to say.

A hearty Thank you, friend. Finally a Christian that gets it. I am not one myself, but I do think I follow the teachings pretty well, love one another, suffer the little children, love thy neighbor, and so on. Most of the "good Christians" I meet though are the opposite, they are filled with hate for anything not of their liking, and are very quick to show it. They have no time whatsoever to even listen to another point of view. I have read the Bible, several times over, and have yet to meet a door to door Christ seller who has. I have been told thousands of times I am going to hell, and I don't even believe in such a place, for I have seen the Afterlife first hand, and know better. So, happy to make your acquaintance.

Hey there autowrench, good to finally make your acquaintance also. I think I am in the same boat as you. I am not a Christian, but I do consider Jesus as a great spiritual teacher. I am an ex-Protestant and I know the entire Bible very well. I am now but a mere spiritual seeker. I look within and also follow words of wisdom and righteousness from any source that my heart discerns as transcendent truth.

I do quote Jesus Christ more than any other teachers, and Lord Buddha as a close second. Peace bro.

But but but it doesn't work like that! You're not supposed to ask god for things, he's not your servant.

Well, except for these verses:

Matthew 7:7 "Ask and it will be given you...."

Matthew 18:19 "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."

Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Some of you believers give some amputees some love and get their limbs back!

So if you believe in a God, a Higher Creator, then why would it be difficult to believe God gave us a manual (bible) to help us live happy lives? Why would it be hard to believe that God sent himself through Jesus to represent the divine way to live and to relate to us as human beings? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the entire purpose of Jesus Christ was to teach the human population how to love and forgive one another, just as God loves and forgives us. What is illogical about loving others? I think it takes open-mindedness to try to love another person, faults and all, despite what they've done. Each and every person on the planet has their own hurts and flaws, and yet God granted us the graciousness and mercy to turn our pain all around through the hope in Him (Jesus) as our prime example and Teacher. What about Christ's teachings don't make any sense to you? I'd be happy to discuss them with you. As our Creator, God feels jealousy for us. He loves us, but He also wants us to know that He is very much in charge and the only reason we exist is because He made us. To love and to be loved. Since we are made in God's image, we can relate to those emotions. Much like a father would his son. Since we were created out of love and to love (with Jesus as our prime. loving example) we are expected to follow simple commandments that can keep us out of trouble. That's a pretty loving thing to do--freewill is a beautiful thing, to an extent. What Jesus commands in the bible really wouldn't hurt anyone to practice. I think it is the relentless, sinful creation that want nothing but to hate and to hurt are the ones whom follow Satan that are to be destroyed. They chose to stray from God, chose to hurt and infiltrate the world with corrupt evil. Besides, if your Creator created you, He can very well destroy you if you choose not to LOVE. Of what worth are you if you think of nothing but yourself? It is those human beings that are truly sorry for the pain they have caused others and want nothing more than to love through the Holy Spirit that are worth keeping. Will they be perfect, no. But when we reach out and worship our God, we will find that He refines us, and we will grow closer and closer to love and the Creator that made love to begin with.

As a muslim, I believe in the ONE UNSEEN GOD, and Jesus as the mesiah/prohpet of that ONE TRUE UNSEEN GOD, but most christian dogma today has huge flaws, the christians have lost the plot, take for instance the supposed crucifiction that most christains today lean on (as a foundation of their faith) and tell you that GOD couldnt forgive sin wihtout Jesus jumping on a cross and dying, well that in itself seems pretty blasphemous to me, and is a huge oxymoron. For one if you're calling him GOD then GOD doesnt "die", so nothing died for your sins, two GOD is seperate from his creation therefore even if you try and say it was Jesus' flesh only that died on the cross I'll say all flesh is the creation, 3rd there is no way in hell I'm going to lower GOD to the level of wanting to come out of a vagina and suckle on a womens breast(as Jesus did) and then allow the jews and romans to commit sin by crucifying him just so he could forgive other sinners, thats beyond ludicrous.

As a muslim, we believe Jesus(Isa) will return through the will of GOD, as the bible says Jesus himself could do nothing without the will of the Father(GOD). I'd say the lost christians who call Jesus 'GOD' will be more likely to latch onto the anti-christ(as will most jews) as he's the only one who'll be calling himself GOD, while the christians with half a clue will be following the true Jesus with the muslims and any other decent person with faith in ONE TRUE UNSEEN GOD.
