In my opinion, being a polymer frame owner (Springfield XD), I would buy an XD!

Polymer frames are just so much lighter than steel frames, especially if you carry everyday, you will notice the difference.

XD holds 13, a 1911 holds 7, fully loaded the XD barely outweighs the steel frame. Keep yer magazine loaded to ten and your a featherweight.

I have the SW9VE and I am in love with it. I have already put 500 or so rounds through it without a single jam. I highly recomend this weapon for the price.

WOW Some glock haters around here.

Even an x gunsmith talking about reliability problems!! That is quite laughable, a serious joke.

As far as reliability under normal conditions I'd put ruger at 1 and glock second. Under harsh conditions glock 1st.

I've owned 3 glocks a 21,30,23. Put thousands of rounds through them and the only failure to fire was the 21 4 round 1st clip because I didn't tension the spring 200 times as it says to do in the manual before firing. My best friend has owned a 22, two 23's and a 36 no failure to fire ever. His former sergeant has owned 19 different glocks over a 15 year period with no failures. He even wailed one against a brick wall with one in the chamber and it didn't fire. That's how certain the reliability of these guns is! They don't fail misfire or break, ever! Throw in a 3.5lb trigger spring and you have the perfect semi auto. Its also the lowest maintenance gun ever wont fist and rarely needs cleaned.

Now that the nonsense was dispelled onto the smitty. It ain't a glock and the accuracy is questionable. For the money a ruger is much better.

the phrase "Glock Perfection" only applias to calibers other than .40.google police problems with glock .40 and you get about 1,030,000 hits .try that with any other caliber and you get about 3,000 hits.problem is glock took the 9 and just baciscally bored out the barrell and presto a new gun for the cops, no need to change holsters or mag carriers..40 ammo is more intense than 9 and it slams slide back too fast, mag spring doesnt have time to push fresh round up properly, and you get a jam.glock range guns in .40 start to break parts about 2,000-3,000 rounds ,their are G19's(9) with 50,000 rounds through them with nothing more than a good cleaning,no parts breakage, glock mag springs have gotten stiffer over the years, look at a empty glock mag ,on the follower is a number most new mags are up to 9 or 10,you can only load a glock .40 mag without a loader to about 5 or 6 rounds, then a loader is mandatory. the longslide .40 works great and makes a great tacticle gun, some SWAT teams use long slide glocks.up to date ammo tests can be found at Stopping Power.com,also look in glock forum for problems with G22, its up to 13 pages.i love my Glock longslide .40 ,cant seem to miss with that longer sight radius.most of my drop free mags are numbred 5-7, no malfunctions here.just dont get a G22 or G23.or the mini .40 either, your life is worth more.
