They say Leonid Elenin is supposed to mean something else.

Nid de mitrailleuses / machine gun nest
Nid d'espions / spy's nest

that fits better from your link...

nid, as in dangerous things, hidden
Ele as in extinction level event
nin as in the ninth planet

Nid would be nothing in and of itself.

Leonid is the term used to describe the contellation and some objects which appear "within" the constellation from our perspective.

For example, a meteor that seems to emerge from the contellation of Leo can be described as a leonid meteor (see Leonid Meteor Shower).

And do you think its coincidental that the guy that supposedly detected Elenin, his name means what you just said?

The biggest coincidence is the fact that you have created yet another thread on exactly the same topic

I think my discovery deserves it own thread. In breaking news

"Yet another Ats member has not done a search and concluded that the Elenin Comet is a grand conspiracy.

Next he will likely try to tie his theories into The Olso incident."

Follow the paper trail.

I didn't give an opinion on the name at all. I just pointed out that searching for meaning in "nid" is misguided.

The name is certainly odd.

All credible scientific data indicates that it is not a threat however. If it is being hidden from us, it would be for the sake of stability though. Stability required if any nation(s) would attempt to undertake an operation to divert it, or if it cannot be diverted, what's the point of telling everyone they are doomed?

I am confident that we are not under threat. If we are, let it come upon us quickly and be done. I have no need to anticipate my demise.

Isn't it odd that people find a hidden meaning in English? What is that all about?

Does anything in this 10+minute video stand out? Can you introduce anything of interest?

Please provide the time in the video and an explanation.

You didn't find a somewhat uncommon surname in a database, so it cannot be real? Are these six Americans fake?

Leonid is a pretty common name in Russia.

Not to mention the fact that all objects (earthly and space-borne, living or otherwise), are named either after the discoverer, place of discovery or latin-based scientific nomenclature (which are all man-made identification references).

All you really have to do is trace the etymology of the name Leonin (also Leoninus, Leonius, Leo), which is rooted in Leonius (which is Roman, and means "Leonine")

The name Leonius is a Roman family name which is derived from the Latin word "leo" meaning "lion". The Latin word "leo" derives from Greek "leon".

www.mfnames.com...

Does it then come as any suprise that the Constellation Leo (which many cultures represent as a Lion or Lion-like) would represent a relationship to between the two (the constellation, which is perceived as a Lion, and the name which means Lion?)

en.wikipedia.org...(constellation)

It just goes to show, really, that if you look hard enough, you can find something, anything, that will seemingly support what someone else claims. There is no conspiracy, there is no Nibiru, Comet Elenin is nothing more that an oversized snowball on an extremely long orbital path. It's just the first time we are seeing it.

Naming objects after the discoverer includes automated search system such as Linear.

PS Thanks for the great signature.

No problem with the signature. I was actually wondering when someone might get a chuckle out of it.

As for naming objects and such, my point, really, was that it is a man-made identification method.

BRIAN = Anagram for BRAIN
BEAU = Antonym of ENEMY or synonym of BELOVED
DRY = Antonym of WET or synonym of ARID

Therefore, one could easily conlude that you are an advanced alien who could be either our enemy or our friend that needs a desert environment to survive.
