Bored with my music,,please give me some good stuff

ok im late 30s,,im tired of listening to the same ole stuff in my car,,these days im into some newer bands that have an 80s futura sound if that makes sense ,,,i have the chill on xm but it really plays the same stuff,,im tired of fusion jazz and downtempo lounge,,,help out a brotha with something fresh...........

I'm a big post punk fan myself. I would recommend Interpol, Liars (probably only They Threw us in a Trench CD), and Gang of Four. They might be your style because they have both a chill and slightly future vibe with the exception of Gang of Four, they just kick ass.

Those guitars sound good but the singer ruins the song.

Probably not what you're looking for (I'm 50), but when someone asks me for good music I always recommend two bands; Accept and Annihilator. These guys ride well in the car, even without coffee. Accept's "Balls to the Wall" is classic, and Annihilator's album "Carnival Diablos" kicks the rocks out of your head....
