A Poetry Thread

First off, forgive me if this isn't the right area for this thread; and feel free to move it if needed. Have some poems to share. Here goes my favorite.

Tree of Life
Each of us is connected
By branches unseen
Joined in the collective
As a single heartbeat
Umbilical cord hidden
Between the voids
Soft spoken whispers
Echo through white noise

In the Springtime a tree awakens
Ready to begin anew
The swelling of buds
With lone aspirations to pursue
Each leaf is given respiration
To carry on a journey
Til its final destination

Summer provides the energy
Sunlight to endure
Excercise from water
To keep the body pure
Awaiting nourishment from
The photosynthetic light
Sugary flavor providing
Endless delight

Fall changes begin to show
Leaves begin to fall away
False perceptions of reality
Begin to lead astray
Hidden behind red beauty
Reflections made
Of memories more suiting

Winter brings blankets
Of soft and gentle snow
Each flake brings leaves close
As perennials of Spring
Linger in the distance
Realization that life
Could end in an instant

I call this one "Torture"


Sitting at my desk
Longing for an ocean breeze
Please clock, turn to five

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Don't fall a sleep
Or i'll molest you
