Norway: Blast near prime minister's office in Oslo

Could it be retaliation for the cartoon of Prophet Mohammed? They did want to punish Norway for that. Perhaps to teach others not to do the same thing as Norway so they set Norway as an example.

Gibbs said he believes one explosion happened on an upper floor of a main government building. He said it blew out every window on the side of the building where the blast occurred. One of the blasts damaged the Oil Ministry and left it in flames, he said.

From what I understand, 1 dead, around 8 injured. No reason for the explosion yet.

Al-Jazeera said someone noticed a car that was completely blown apart near the buildings.

After watching this unfold on various news channels and threads online, i have one very scary observation.

Where the hell are the Emergency Services???

This is in the capital city ffs, and i have yet too see a police car, an ambulance or any sort of public sector support.

Someone has died, this is a crime scene, so why isn't the area being sealed off? Not to mention the 'evidence' that is undoubtedly being trampled all over!

Something smells fishy too me. Capital city and no Emergency Services... huh??? huh again?

Sad to hear that two people are feared dead. Why would anyone want to target the oil & energy department? I'm sure "details" of that will emerge sooner or later...

well its nothing new for intelligence to do dirty tricks to keep other countries involved in war that are not in the national interest. like a few years back when germeny and france wanted to bail on afghanistan it was leaked that the cia was going to put lots of news stories out in france about how women were being abused to get support for the war there because of frances liberal outlooks.

in germany they had to try a different trick because of germanys conservative nature so they put out stories about how germany would be flooded with islamic immigrants if they didnt keep supporting the war.

now with isolationist countries or ones leaning towards isolationism they will normally blow something up in those countries to convince people isolationism wont work. it is a lame and played out trick but we will see if it works in norway.

This guy is a leader of some terrorist organisation and have made threats against Norway and politicians several times.

As a norwegian... I got to agree.

Norways government have been "playing" war on terror... And always maintained that norway is safe... many other in the opposition have said that this could happen. The current government have cut millitary spending sevral times. as well as police and healthcare... Norway has now bader conditions in health and security than romania.

I am so sorry for all the life lost in this happening.. Innocent pepole have died. but i hope norway now considers realy what the # they are doing and either commit or become neutral and just # nato...

My question would be, who or which city is next, if this is a terrorist attack.

Off course my thoughts are with those whom have been injured. And my heart goes out to those whom have been killed as a result.

Off course you do know they will not become neutral. It is their interests to keep the population under control. This is justification if they deem to do so.
