[This Board] Is there actually anybody who believes the world will end in 2012?

There are some on ATS that have claimed that the world will end. After it was shown repeatedly that their claims were false other claims started to appear that there would be a change in humans. That change has been claimed to be new DNA forms or a consciousness shift or whatever. These latter claims are New Age claims that come from a variety of sources such as Lungold, Calleman and Melchizek (not sure of the last spelling).

None of the 2012 theories are backed with objective evidence, and that includes McKenna's ridiculous timewave zero. It's like a new age religion, nothing more.

I don't believe that the world will end in the sense of being destroid. I'm hoping that it'll be the end as we know it, which could be a multiple of things. A shift in consciousness. Undeniable proof of the soul or of aliens. If scientist could prove with out a doubt that consciousness exists outside of the physical body, I think that would change the world as we know it, hopefully for the better. But if it turns the world will be destroyed, I'm ok with that too.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipsh**s.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz

My prediction for 2012: Fearmongering will increase by 20x. I expect the kooks to come out of the woodwork, especially here on ATS.

Any person ignorant enough to believe the world will end in 2012 should sign over all their possessions to me now. Even though I have no use for old tube tvs and houses with wheels attached...

Don't be ridiculous, of course the world isn't going to end in 2012, you'd have to be a real moron to believe that. The world is obviously ending in 2011.
