no i don't know alot ABOUT Wahhabism, do you? can you tell their beliefs, why they are different from other branches of islam, its scholars, etc etc. ? all you know is what the right wing media tells you. what i can tell you, although i can't find any concrete numbers is that there are likely hundreds of thousands of wahhabists in the world

No, it isn't that popular, but anywhere you find it, you find trouble.

The following source is a Muslim (not the 'right wing media').

Wahhabism is official in Saudi Arabia.

It is influential in Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

It has a substantial following in Yemen.

Hamas in Israel represents pure Wahhabism.

Forms of neo-Wahhabi or Wahhabized ideology have been powerful in Egypt (the Muslim Brotherhood) and in Pakistan — in both countries neo-Wahhabis lead attacks on other Muslims and other faiths.

Wahhabi infiltration continues in Chechnya.

A picture can also paint a very misleading picture as well.

The % of Muslims in the U.K. who engage in this kind of activity is miniscule and their identites are well known to the security forces.

I would prefer that they are engaging in this practice in plain daylight rather than it all being pushed underground and harder to trace.
