BitTorrent forum

I think a great idea would be to have a forum entirely devoted to completely legal BitTorrent downloads. Anyone else agree? It would also be great for ATS to host a server with top secret stuff you could get through BitTorrent.

I would agree with that, as long as its legal of course. Bittorrent is a great way of sharing stuff.

It definately does have some good legal uses, like distributing a file so thats its not stuck on just one server. A few linux distros actually use Bittorrent as a way to distribute the ISO images for install disks, but the only one that comes to mind at the moment is Slackware. Of course the one thing that will make or break it in the eyes of the ATS staff is security, because from what I've seen that is a top priority for the staff, and one of the reasons the idea of an IRC server/channel was never considered. Not trying to speak for the staff, just my take on their stance towards new things (and its a pretty good stance I think)

Sorry to burst bubbles, but the BitTorrent method is the next great playground of malicious and illegal efforts. A public distribution area of "cool code for trade" is exactly what hackers and computer criminals are looking for at this point. If you find one, I'd recommend staying away... and we'll not support it. Sorry. TANSTAAFL

I only use www.suprnova.org yes thats www.suprnova.org for all my torrenting needs. Naturally I uhhh... download... erm... completely opensource material from that site
