4 days ago we also got involved heavily in this thread

What might have started out as a joke/project/whatever ... got too big for them to handle so they put up the conet page to throw us off - or just looked for something else happening on that day so when it comes, they don't look like complete idiots - they can claim they had a purpose all along when they didn't

I think from the start we gave them way more credit than deserved and overestimated them. It is now painfully obvious that Belle is a symbol they've used before and not respectfully (doodling a thug life tatoo on her face). We're not dealing with E.Gary Gygax here, but giggly college girls who think "mad thugs" giving "free hugs" is quite clever. I think their game went off the rails because it's unplanned and unthought out clues and mysteries were set upon by an internet community who's thought processes soon outstripped their own. Shame on you B and J.

I was working on the audio Knowledge.mp3 from the "about" page. It has a little girl who is hard to understand at first, but then towards the end of the 4:20 long track, her speech is much more understandable.

She is speaking in German, and at first, she counts to 10 twice. Then the music box song plays. Then she counts to 10 twice again. Then the music box plays. Then her voice begins to change, and her numbers are repeated, to create a really long number. I am not good enough with German to translate it fast enough, but if anyone understands German well enough to translate what the long number is at the end, I can post the mp3.

It's from the page that says "you're lost" if you type whatever you want after the main address...
It's a song from "the Conet Project" also, but at first sounds like a tyrolean song, and after a while a man starts to count, in German I suppose... I've already taken a deep look into this, as I'm interested in this kind of experimental records, but seems to lead nowhere

Furthermore, I've never been more proud of myself (ok that half a lie, but true in the forum sense) or being a member of ATS until this thread - and I don't regret any of my posts whether they were right or wrong. I was very frustrated when I posted that, it may have been misdirected to YOU, but its directed to 8311 without a doubt, which means its still accurate.

So they denied involvement with the Conet project, but the Conet project claims to be supporting them.

However, it becomes rather obvious that they have been sharing images and jacking ideas as they see things that interest or intrigue them.

I do admit the Conet Project, if they have been able to break the code, is really cool.

I disagree with viral marketting like this being needed to garner interest in it, because it's been a hot topic on here in the past, what with the numbers stations and all.

I even submitted a question/statement saying that if this was to garner attention or support for something, there was far better ways to assure getting attention than this.

IMO, this runs a huge risk of turning people off of what they wanted to draw people in for, not the opposite.

Now, they kind of... hosed it. Just my opinion.

I think it is cool if they cracked the code, but that's as far as I go with it now. Kind of a few years late and a lot of pissed people late, too.

This is one thing that remains though. They did not want to be know, they stated such on their formspring. They said in the end that *perhaps* they may be available to speak to, but wished to remain anonymous.

Yeah, that was not only blown out of the water, but they garnered some undue harrassment over it, as well. That's a sad thing.

I did try to listen to it at one time but could not understand it, because of the hearing loss.
