NO! You either will not have conscience you died or you will be in another place.

The conservation of energy states that energy cannot be destroyed only transformed.

So science tells me i willl be in a better place.

Death is non existent, your shell dies, but you don't. Its nothing to fear, speaking from experience. If anything, its the best thing to ever happen to us. Whats beyond is better than your can imagine, no heaven; no hell. Just is. You are one with everything and everything is one with you. Hard to explain.. just don't fear it. People waste way to much energy on fear.

I am sorry to say but your words are so empty to the majority .
You can't described light to a men that was born blind...and again he could reply ;
What is light? I know about colour that have no receiving light.
Have a good day.

I describe it as such because it is what you could relate it as, not being blind as i can assume by your navigation to this site.
"the light" is simply a name, call it heaven, call it paradise, call it what you will.

I rephrase my first thought.
People in masses will not accept this words above, they will find them poetic, abstract, utopian or eless.
The biggest problem people face is this cycle that we call birth and death. You born with no choise apparently, and you die without choice apparently also.
In this context the apparent choices are not in your control therefor the reason at this level of knowledge push you to see no other aspect of life then just an empty one.
If you dare to search and seek the why?where?who? aspect of life then your reason will change a large spectrum of self knowledge which will come closer to what you have wrote above.
I for one have no certitude yet about what you wrote, but some think is telling me that I will know soon enough...maybe on my deathbed just before the last breath.

In your dying moments the who what when where and why do not matter, you part with the earth in piece or in anguish. I for one could get killed tomorrow by the worst means in the world and i would be content, knowing what is to come. I would leave behind an amazing family and amazing friends that love me dearly, and that is the true sadness. I do not ask one to believe or try to imagine what it is like. Perhaps it is different for everyone, I just know from what i have experienced and what i have seen that there is nothing to fear. Be content with life and live it to the fullest, no need to fear the inevitable.

The only thing I would fear about death is how it happens, not actually dying. For instance, I do not want to die falling in an airplane for 30,000 feet before hitting the ground. Or, burning slowly in a fire until dying.

Dying, itself, is not scary to me because I know I will rest in peace until Jesus calls us from the grave. Now that's the part I can't wait for!

Quick offtopic followup: X-Ray showed no cancer/tumors, but apparently I have some emphysema from my smoking days. They still aren't sure about my chest pain.

Yep, I was definately feeling some fear of death there. Whew...

I guess I have to say that sounds way better, so Congrats to that, even if it still is no good having any disease..

Happy for you!
Best of wishes..

I'm not sure that there is anything after death but I'm not afraid of dying as life is hard. I am afraid of dying in pain though - now that is scarey.

There is no 'good' way or 'bad' way to die. One way or another we leave the earth and these bodies, how we do so is all perception. One can find the serenity in the chaos, the peace in the storm. So going out burning can be calming, though that is contrary to all popular belief..though it is possible. So death is just death. No good, no bad, just how you label it.

I'm not afraid of death but once you give it some thought it really makes you look at life differently. For instance, you try your whole life to say "fit in" or be something and go through this life thinking you have to do things such as become successful, have kids, and satisfy your ego. The truth is.. your kids kids kids kids wont even know your great great grandparents name? I sure as hell dont.. Merely lost in history and your great great grandkids wont even know your name. If your afraid of death I want you to think of something.. One day your going to be near death and you will probably know it (depending on how you die).. You ARE going to die, it's the only thing promised to you. Nothing in this world really matters unless you concrete yourself in the history books. Other than that people wont even know your name, so instead of trying to impress people.. Realize what are you really trying to impress? Chances are no one will remember their name either..

Death fears shouldn't be the regarded as fear of death itself but more fear of change and the unknown. If someone walked into your house tomorrow and said you were getting on a plane and flying to a foreign country with a completely different culture and way of thinking than you to live, it would in most people cause fear but once embraced it would become a pleasent experience. My only problem is i'm quite attached to my physical body and would like to try before i buy/die before i would confortably embrace it.

What matter when you die is your letting go attitude...this is what I meant.
There not one single being in this earth that is fearless in all honesty when facing death except if this person has bridge the gap of realisation.
Did you?

Not anymore. Death is just a process of moving your stuff over to a different place. What kind of place? Don't ask, 'cause I don't know.
I've been there after my bad case of a lot'sa painkillers + sleeping pills + whiskey. Theoretically, I should be dead, but all the crazy amounts of drugs didn't kill me. All I got was a broken spine. And I hate myself for it.
Anyway, I'm a lil' drunk, so I should shut up and post something when I'm sober.

I didnt quite follow you there.. Have i bridged the gap or realization? In terms, yes, by experiencing what is to come after i leave this mortal body. People often fear how they will die, not death itself. If a person was to experience the peace of death they would see there is nothing to fear, however that is a hard idea to convey because i do not know if what comes after differs from person to person. No one knows that. So for each his own, but i can tell you with honesty that i do not fear death.

The truth is death is the greatest lie ever told. We are spiritual beings having the human experiance our bodies stop working. We move on to the celestial realms life is forever and god is reality. Peace

I came to the conclusion that I'm not afraid of death at all. That being said I don't particularly want to be dead.

How I feel. You never know when or how it's going to hit, so I've never got too carried away with being worried about it. I've never been afraid of it. But I love life and will be very bummed when I die. I just hope I get to experience the things in life I've always wanted, before I go. I guess I have a un-written bucket list
