Picked up the Witcher books because I want to get caught up and more immersed for when the Witcher 3 game comes out, did not read them. Started
reading the first book today, and I am pretty impressed with this writer. I played the games and did look into the storyline and world of the
witcher. But the books, or the book is pretty dam good, I expected something like this, as in the game you have all kinds of things blindsighting you
and the world and story is not clear cut.
But I did not expect the whole flipping things on there head. For instance in the very first book in the beginning chapters you have a whole scene
were it comes our of nowhere and is part of the witcher story, but your reading it and your like " wait a minute, hold up! This sounds familiar, 7
dwarfs you say? And a princess and woodsman and evil queen? This all sounds so dam familiar?"
The guy has a way of turning things on there head I admit. Suffice to say, you have the witcher, Geralt eventually having a swordfight with what is
essentially that worlds version of snow white, and she ain't quite normal, but then again considering the other things so far in the story shes as
normal as they come. Its pretty hilarious and pretty somber and pretty freaking real, and sad, all at the same time.
I am hoping to get more into the books by the time the game comes out. But thats probably not going to happen as I dont read all that much anymore and
dont even have the time for it, and when I do, I find it difficult to concentrate on any one thing. But as far as stories and books go, so far its a
page turner.
