Humans CAN win a war against ET's!!!

I agree if we could get people to fight them we could win, as long as we all had heavy machine guns, AA gun and if that didn't work, anti nuke bunkers.

The major flaw in your analysis, in my humble opinion, is that of assumption. Assuming to know if extraterrestrial civilizations exist, assuming to know their technological and/or war fighting capabilities, assuming to know our species' response; the list goes on.

While I would love to side with you and I understand this is not an academic research paper, there are just to many unknown variables to even begin predicting the outcome of such an event.

EDIT TO ADD:
Missed your post Tropher on the first read-through. That is one factor that can definitely be accounted for. Regardless of the means, it's not in humanity to go down without a fight. It was less than 100,000 years ago our numbers dwindled to 3,000 total, worldwide population (by best scientific estimates). Look at us now!

Humans are already doing their job for them. they will just sit back and wait for us to self destruct anyway.

If extraterrestrials came here on friendly terms, I would accept them as brothers. If they come here on hostile terms, "Remember the Alamo!!!!"

Logically speaking if they have the technology to get here then they would have already explored and mastered all of the military strategies and technology we are currently thinking of and testing.

Which means they would fight using machines that either enhance their soldiers, or more probably, use some sort of robotic army. Whether this would be current tech style robots, or bio robots, is kind of irrelevant. The point is they'd probably set up factories, or have factory ships, and pump out endless waves of these things if they needed to engage in a ground war.

It's laughable to suggest that humans could defeat ETs. I would take 1 ET ship that is capable of traversing the galaxy over the whole of mankind. With bio-weapons it's more than likely we would be killed before we even knew we were at war.

What if their means of travel will not allow externaly mounted weapons ?
Are we giveing them too much credit? They use their minds not their bodys the grays look pretty puny and weak .
All they have to do is spread a virus and wait !
Like spraying for roaches..fighting us is probably not worth the effort !

Okay, here it goes.
If they were ONLY technological advanced, then we can do something about it eventually.....steal.....reverse engineer.....etc.
But if they were both technological and spiritual advanced, then we are totally F@#$.......imagine they are able to use 100% of their brain, they can enter and exit multidimensional space at will.......remote viewing......become non-coporeal and corporeal form whenever they feel like....and more....all of these abilities they can perform without the use of any machine.
Personally, I can think of no way of beating a force like that.

Since Extraterrestrial life will likely be in the form of small microbes, a can of Lysol probably would do the trick.

What if ET has figured out time travel ? If so, then we are truly f*%ked , because all they would have to do is go back to the time of our early developement and wipe us out that way .
What if they have already interfered with our DNA in the past and modified it to destruct at any given moment ?

To beat an opposing force like that, you would need to not only defeat your planet's invasion but actively seek out and destroy the opposing forces bases of operations and home planet.

So we win the invasion, we are drastricly tapped on resources and people.

How are we going to raise a space fleet capable of finding and eliminating the majority of the enemy, which would not be in our own solar system but safe in a protected system with resources.

We are screwed if any kind of "invasion" was to happen.

i think it's awesome that you write with such conviction on a topic that exists only in your imagination. it's fun to read and i enjoyed it. reminds me of one of my favorite comic book runs, the 'What If?' series. each issue pits characters against other characters or situations which they normally would not face within the confines of their own monthly titles.

IMHO i feel one must keep in mind there could be a life form that is able to decimate our planet from a great distance by sheer will. boom, it's all over.

if we were lucky we could be visited by a life form that has been observing our lives from afar for some time. if they were to arrive and take away all the sick, twisted, evil so-and-so's that prevent mankind from living natural lives, and take them away to use as snacks, i'd be quite happy.
