Whats with all these volcanos suddenly becoming active? Something must be up? Could it be that pressure inside the earth is increasing forcing magma to rise? What sort of thing could cause this kind of pressure increase?

Does seem odd - someone (I would but stacked out over weekend) needs to do a proper bit of research into how many volcanoes erupt each year..
There's a lot of info on quakes but don't know about these?
Any one have the time and the know how to find this information?
Is it just that volcanoes are the new media thing and every one is being reported OR are they genuinely on increase - and why could that be? What would make volcanos all over globe become active?
Core heating up, magnetism? I genuinely dont know?

Thanks for the post (S&F)

Dare I say it, should I say it, oh what the heck why not....HAARP!!! Why? Because volcanos are becoming too frequent, and it will be more than just a coincidence that they could be derived from 'natural' causes. Define 'natural' cause these days....

Has anybody even considered the fact that maybe because of our sun 11yrs low cycle, it may be possible for us on earth to experience more volcanic eruptions because of our sun's period?? Like what is being thought of CME's and causing EQ's, couldn't it then be possible for volcanic activitiy to be of the same source..

It sure is wierd having almost no volcanic activity for years and now boom, almost everyday (every week) we hear of another Volcano erupting somewhere..

Don't know if someone has claimed this already..

I am actually just awaiting this Volcano in Iceland blowing its top, now. And still some members in this Site still deny that things are not right on this planet.

Who looks sheepish now.

My heart goes out to those people though who are having to flee. I just hope they are safe.

Oh My God!

Geology is being all,...Geological!
Doom, I say!

Dooooooooom!

Seriously, the sun cycles and so does the earth.
Always has and always will.
The only differences between this cycle of geological activity and the earth's last one is that with current technology we are far more aware of everything as it happens whereas in the past much of it would go unnoticed.

This does not mean we are the cause.
This does not mean the "End Times are Nigh!"
This doesn't mean a multitude of things thrown around in panic and hysteria these days.

All it means is what it has always meant,
A geologically active planet is...
...wait for it...
ACTIVE!

so what you are saying is that volcanoes have been erupting for millions of years and they go thru a period of low activity and a period of high activity??

and you also propose that the reason it seems that eruptions and EQs are occurring at an increased rate is not because God is angry or a celestial body is soon to slam into the Earth, but because we live in a world of internets and cell phones that can broadcast these kinds of activity in almost real time??

you and your crackpot theories!!!

The volcanoes, the earthquakes, the sink-holes that are showing up all over the Planet, and the enormous cracks appearing in Peru....??? These have all happened, if not one a day, one a week.

The Earth is changing.. like she's stretching, shifting... maybe giving the fleas that have been itching her a good scratch... before a full body wash...

Expanding Earth theory? What with gaping holes and trenches splitting open in random parts of the world... makes you wonder, huh?

Nope, nothing wrong with this planet, it's just business as usual.

If you think there is something wrong with the planet you are obviously ignorant, willfully or otherwise, of history (and prehistory).
The story of this planet is one of periods of calm and stability interrupted by episodes of immense and cataclysmic upheavals, in terms of geology, climate and biotic diversity. Countless species and whole genera have gone extinct, civilisations have crumbled, mountain ranges uplifted, deep chasms carved, and enormous craters both endogenic and meteoritic have formed, leaving it scarred and battered whilst the slow passage of time and the elements smooth over the cracks and fissures.
Many past eras have been far more seismically and volcanically active than now, and likely have seen more tempestuous and violent extremes meteorologically... Nature is just doing what it always has done and always will do, maybe with a little help from us, but the past proves that nature really doesn't need any help when it comes down to it... I doubt the End-Cretaceous foraminifera and dinosaurs or the Pleistocene megafauna suffered due to impiety or a desire for widescreen tvs and sportscars, but I guess all that just ain't as exciting as "OMG!!! its nibaroo were all gonna die!!!"

Maybe nature is doing what she does, maybe we just havent been around to see it happen yet. But thats kind of ignoring the point. And that point is that we are witnessing the change as it happens. Many, many people, are noticing changes in the earth and on the earth. We are entering into new territory and about to witness things never seen or experienced by humans before. Simply stating, "Oh its ok, mother nature does this every so many millions of years" does nothing to invalidate what people know is happening.

Just food for thought, may not even be related, but I read on ats about a month ago that our sun is giving off new types of particle or energy due to the solar system moving through an area of space that contains more matter than usual. will have a look and see if i can find the article. any way the thought occurred to me if the sun is indeed giving off new particles or energy could it be that said particles or energy are penetrating the earth and causing the core to heat up slightly, if that is the case the core heating would also increase the pressure that would be released via increased volcano activity. any way just a thought will try and find link to article

Still Looking for article its lost in a huge pile of CME posts
