I like many others succumb to buying the new Call of Duty when it comes out, however after BFBC2 i feel more inclined to try the third installment and not bother with MW3. Give me some thoughts and suggestions about which one i should opt for.

You mean Battlefield 3?

Just FYI this is BF3, and not part of the Bad Company installments.

MW sucks in comparison to the Battlefield series. And yes, I will be getting BF3 on release date. The only video game I still play is BF2, and 6 years after release it's still the best FPS ever. If you ever want to play I'm always on ZPG's Bloody Pearl server or =E='s Karkand server.

Again, Battlefield and Bad Company, while both EA games, are different series.

BFBC and BF are different things.

Battlefield 3 will not be about single player, if it has single player at all. It's an EA/Dice game, if you want an idea of gameplay (sans dx11 and damageable walls, etc), check out BF2. It's like $10 now for the game and all xpacks.

I might buy MW3, but I won't ever buy a map expansion pack again. What a waste. After the 2 map packs, you've spent over $90 on the game, and they release the sequel.

When they finally release the sequel, they put all the bad maps in rotation constantly, and let hackers run rampant because they don't keep up with the old game's servers. It might sound conspiracy-ish, but I think they do it on purpose so you get bored of the game and buy the new one.

BF3 does including a more fleshed out single player campaign from what I've read.

Here's the thing.
If you like running around with shotguns hiding behind corners, get modern warfare 3.
If you prefer TACTICAL shooting, destructible cover, massive battles with vehicles and support roles, get BF3.

IF you are a ps3 owner and pre order it, you get "Battlefield:1943" for free, which is a game I still play constantly.

Battlefield series has always been just that, a massive battlefield, more realistic warfare. Call of duty is run and gun twitch combat at it's best, and I do still enjoy that.

The frostbite 2 engine for BF3 looks, well, ridiculous. I might pick this up or pc as I just can't believe the ps3 will do it justice, the engine provides cinema quality lighting effects in real time. The player models and movements are photo realistic thanks to technology borrowed from the FIFA soccer series.

The only shooter, on the horizon, that has a chance to get me away from playing M.A.G. (ps3 owners get this one, it's epic) is BF3

Conspiracy ish? Not at all, nail on the head. Call of Duty World At War, the last CoD title I bought on a console. Rampant hacking from day one, even before the hacked consoles came online. First instance I noticed was people getting under the map, and of course the kill cam would show you this. So people, like me, started recording youtube videos and complaining about it.

EA's response? A patch. Oh, no, not one that stops them from getting under the map, no, the patch stops the kill cam from showing up IF they are under the map.

The elevator glitch, after god like 20 patches, was still there too (certain objects when you get ontop o them and shoot them, send you 20 feet into the air floating, so you can get on the roof of inaccessible buildings.)

Now, I have no clue if BF3 will include "dedicated servers" and in most cases, I wouldn't expect it to, the industry has moved away from this. What I do expect is for the first few months, steady moderation on the servers, and several patches.

About about 6 months, it will turn into all the others, the wild wild west of glitching sniper campers.

Sorry i had no idea about the BF3 thing.
, Yeah lots of people say that the Battlefield series are better, i like both for reasons Battlefield is more tactical gameplay and far more realistic but Call of duty is very arcadey and fast paced and fun.

Not to get off topic, but does anyone here play BF2 still? If so what's your handle? I might know you/you might know me.

I'm a 3 star, go by B.Slider.

Also, if you're on the fence about whether you should go console or PC, I would recommend PC. PS3 uses Open GL 2.4, and will not be able to do half of what is going to make BF3 an awesome gaming experience. (Won't look as good as PC, limited interactive environment, most likely game lag, etc). Of course you need a decent rig and a decent GPU that supports DX11.

I haven't been excited about a game release in a long time. Can't wait for this one! =]

The only call of duty game I like is COD4. It takes SOME skill to play unlike all the others after cod4. Its kiddy #. After infintyward made mw2 dedicated, I made a choice to never by another cod game. I have never play bf2 but i have played bfbc2. Its one hell of a game. The graphics are beautiful and the guns fire like guns. I am sure it will be a even more realistic experience with BF3. But nothing beats arma.

I don't buy either game because I just can't find the fun in it but I know that my brother and everyone he knows is gonna go with Battlefield 3 because while they all loved the COD franchise before and held MW2 in high regard, they all hated Black Ops and will treat MW3 the same way they did with COD: WAW. As the franchise game to ignore while they play what they consider to be better options in the FPS market.

It's inevitable that MW3 will once again shatter sales records because somehow they seem immensely popular but it really depends on what your preference is.

As someone who doesn't like either game, if given the choice I'd go with Battlefield 3 because that looks much better from the clips I've seen of both so far.

When I get games, I look for the singleplayer element, not the mulitplayer. I will definately be getting Modern Warfare 3 because I like the style of storytelling that they have been using. Modern Warfare 1 and 2 were fantastic.

Black ops was passable and the storyline was interesting even though it did have a few parts that were done poorly. Still, it was a decent game. And the voice acting by Ed Harris near the end of the game was amazing.

When it comes to Battlefield 3, I actually do want to give it a try. It looks like they have finally added a storyline to the singleplayer element. With BF2, I liked playing the singleplayer skirmishes against the computer but over time, it got old. There were too few maps and it was impossible to earn rewards or unlock weapons without playing online, something my internet connection can not handle.

Hopefully, BF3 will be as amazing as it looked at E3.

I have never played the Bad Company series. It didn't look that fun to me.
