When they finally release the sequel, they put all the bad maps in rotation constantly, and let hackers run rampant because they don't keep up with
the old game's servers. It might sound conspiracy-ish, but I think they do it on purpose so you get bored of the game and buy the new one.
Conspiracy ish? Not at all, nail on the head. Call of Duty World At War, the last CoD title I bought on a console. Rampant hacking from day one,
even before the hacked consoles came online. First instance I noticed was people getting under the map, and of course the kill cam would show you
this. So people, like me, started recording youtube videos and complaining about it.
EA's response? A patch. Oh, no, not one that stops them from getting under the map, no, the patch stops the kill cam from showing up IF they are
under the map.
The elevator glitch, after god like 20 patches, was still there too (certain objects when you get ontop o them and shoot them, send you 20 feet into
the air floating, so you can get on the roof of inaccessible buildings.)
Now, I have no clue if BF3 will include "dedicated servers" and in most cases, I wouldn't expect it to, the industry has moved away from this.
What I do expect is for the first few months, steady moderation on the servers, and several patches.
About about 6 months, it will turn into all the others, the wild wild west of glitching sniper campers.
