A young Jewish American voices opposition to the actions of Israel in a calm and orderly manner amidst hundreds of pro Israeli demonstrators chanting their opinion. The police physicly abuse him and sprit him away. Of course the Israelis chanting the government line were permitted to continue.

Doesn't really surprise me at all.
Israel is merely disguised as a democracy just like the US or the UK.
Only more archaic and tyrannical.
I'm almost half surprised he didn't get thrown in prison.

with current actions
Israel is becoming the very thing they despised from 60 odd years ago.

This was already been discussed a few weeks ago,
but I see you love to recycle stuff like that.

Anyway, he was detained because he refused to show his I.D.
As someone commented there : “ Try that in the USA “. And I'll add – try that in China, Russia, Brazil, England, France...well, you get the idea. After that, try to do the same in Iran, Egypt, Syria, Saudi, Lebanon.

It's so lame Gem Man. You and your comrades are losing it.

I know that it is hard to grasp that even in democracies there is such a thing as a law. And law in Israel is that you have to show id when asked by police. You can be arrested if you don't. Which is exactly what happened.
On the other hand, he was not lynched by angry mob in police station, not that such thing can happen to person (Jew or Arab) in Israel. Can happen in Palestinian autonomy though.

i was visiting the USA once, and i was asked for my 'papers', i didn't wander around with my passport on me, and so got arrested. this kid got treated like a king compared to how i got treated in America, for the crime of NOT HAVING MY PASSPORT ON ME.

there was no potentially eruptive rally, no crimes being committed (i was wearing a bob marley shirt, this obviously makes me a drug dealer or whatnot) , nothing but being a foreigner who didn't have his documentation with him at all times, and i got pepper sprayed in the face and my wrist was badly sprained.

should we also be calling into question the foul and abhorrent occupational regime o the USofA?

Seems like he was only asked for his ID because he was showing support for Palestinians. Unless the search facility is faul;ty this was not discussed.

Any cop anywhere in the world can come up and ask you for your ID, why should Israel be any different?

That video is seriously disturbing. That young man was only voicing his
opinion. I don't care what he was doing. No one deserves to be treated
like that. There is NO justification for it.

Although in Australia I can refuse to show my ID without being detained. It's simple, if a police officer asks for your I.D, you ask "are you investigating any prior incidents that would require me to show you my ID?". In most cases they will say no and if you refuse you are within your legal right to do so. If Israeli law mandates that he can be arrested for refusing to show ID then: fair enough (although I would call that an un-democratic law), however to claim that you will be arrested for refusing to show ID to a police officer in every country is complete BS and I know that for a fact.

Here is how you get treated for criticizing Syria.

Ibrahim Qashqoush, one of Syria’s protest songs’ composers and singers, was found brutally killed with his neck cut and his throat carved out.

So your argument is that since Syria is more brutal, then Israel should not be criticized?

"Your honor, my client only raped thirty women. I have in my hands documentation of a Bolivian man who raped thirty-five and then killed and ate one of them. I motion to dismiss"

Yeah, see, real life doesn't work this way.

If only you new how ludicrous you sound right now.
No, I was pointing out how incredibly hypocrite, prejudice, biased and spewing hate bunch of people you are, when it comes to Israel.
Everyday, atrocities (real ones) are happening in the surrounding neighbors of Israel, yet not a peep from you. An idiot detained for not showing his ID,,,ahhh, that should definitely get headlines.

I have to agree with your comment however I would say you are a hypocrit yourself. Everyday Israel commit Human Rights Violations yet you only present those commited by Arabs and Palestinians. You see, hypocrisy is a two way street that applied to both parties, including you.
