Thank you for a very interesting post. I have always found this subject fascinating.

Our bodies are no accident ( meaning, our biological functions are just random, they have a purpose) and yet for life to have evolved on this planet is a fantastic off chance ( or maybe not ) .

I look at myself and I am amazed at how every part, every behaviour has evolved over millennia to make us the dominant species on this plant.

In a way, for me, it's almost a religious experience when I contemplate how nature/evolution has "designed" us to be so perfect for this planet.

I'm still trying to understand why "sex" has any feeling attached to it at all.

Animals that find sex pleasurable will tend to indulge in it more often than animals that do not. Hence they are likely to have more offspring, many of whom will grow to adulthood and, finding sex pleasurable themselves, have more offspring in turn. Meanwhile, animals who don’t enjoy sex will have less of it, have fewer babies, and pass on fewer copies of the gene for finding sex pleasurable. In time, their descendants will have died out, and every animal in the species will find sex pleasurable.

All this happened a very long time ago in the evolution of animals, so yes, I believe all animals find sex pleasurable, or compelling at the very least. Observation certainly confirms that they do.

You are very kind. Thank you.

Well, the theory of natural selection teaches us that it is something that happens automatically due to the effect of the environment on organisms. It isn’t planned, and there is no ‘design goal’ or specification to follow.

Thanks for your insightful post. It was a genuine question I had, you would be surprised at how many people roll their eyes when I ask such a question. I'm just trying to understand the world around me, why would anyone find it insulting or trolling, I'll never know. Thanks again
