Rapist Wins Big-Time!

Its not a personal thing I dont know this guy from adam Mack its the truth and how I feel about it our goverment laws on these things are stupid they let people get waway with murder our laws need a serious over haul on certain area's.

I agree that the punishment should be a heck of a lot stricted against rapists. But I also disagree with the post that was made with prisioners not having T.V.'s or Computers.

Prisioners are people too, they should have some kind of contact with the outside world.

Not only that, prisons DO NOT WORK. They are revolvoing doors. If you have nothing when you go in your going to have nothing when you come out. You are going to go back to doing the things you were doing before you went in.

The only people that are reformed, are people that have a support group when they get out, Family, church, AA, NA whatever....

Most prisoner do have tv's and computors they have a better life inside than out from some of the things I've. They have PS2's and all sorts coffe machines the lot they get it to easy prison is for doing time not spending it in luxury.

Emprisonment is done for 2 reasons, 1 to serve as a punishment for a crime and 2 as to rehabilitate these people to be fit to reenter society when they get out of jail.

Not giving them anything except life inside jail will make them even more unfit to go back into society imho. And taking away this mans honnestly won Lotto prize will give you someone comming out of jail in a few years with a serious and very rightfull grudge against the world outside of prison.

In federal prisons maybe, the state prisons are NOTHING like what you are discribing.

Im talking about the uk the guy who won the lotto is from the uk spitingcobra they have all these things that I said.

Pretty much cobra that's why I think the goverment should haul some serious butt over there laws on things they just have it to easy some people.

All i'm saying is ppl in prision should not have it better than us law abiding citizens.. u can reform them without giving them the lap of luxury. U want them to keep up with the outside world hand them each a newspaper in their jail cells. Tell them to pick it up and read it if they wanna know whats going on!!!! U make jails a great place to live rent free why not break the law and go back in! Start spending the money u spend on the luxuries for programs to reform them!! make jail as unpleasent asu can so when they get out they would rather go to hell instead of back into prision. All criminals in jail need is the necesities to survive on!!!! Save luxury for the ppl who obey the laws!!!!

You also need to let them slowly ease back into the real world. Providing them with these luxuries can help that go alot faster.

No. The state has the right to charge everyone, and waive payments based on feasibility of extracting payment. This is discrimination based on wealth, yes. But it is practical and legitimate.

Instead of repeatedly asking "why, why, why", at least acknowledge that a reason, whether valid or not, has been provided, and go from there.

That may be so in the states.

I dont think the uk goverment can charge him for staying in prison it comes out of our tax money. but I think they have a right to take your money from you before you go-to jail they did this with a drug dealer took every bit of his money and property.

se7en, that may be because he bought the money and properties using illegal drug money.

The this case the money was legally won.

personally i hope he is not required to pay any compensaiton.

the guy commited these crimes in the 1980's. how would monetary compensation aid the victims now, or even in the first place? i very much doubt rape can be forgotten about via a cheque. i think it's reached the point of greed.

and as for the government asking for him to pay for their hospitality, that's another no. it would be a simple case of "well he blah blah blah, why not him blah blah blah".

even though he may be a dangerous and sick man, hopefully his new found wealth will distract him o_O either that or someone will whack him.

Is there any period of time that you can claim compensation afterwards (u.k).? I mean, it can't be more than 10 years after the fact. Anyone have any info, or links?
