Polls show that a majority of Americans say that both the Republicans and Democrats are doing such a poor job representing the people that a new, third party is needed.

I've repeatedly warned that there is a scripted, psuedo-war between Dems and Repubs, liberals and conservatives which is in reality a false divide-and-conquer dog-and-pony show created by the powers that be to keep the American people divided and distracted. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.

In fact, the Founding Fathers warned us about the threat from a two party system.

John Adams said:

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.

This is a short blog so its an easy read... I have always wondered what Washington, Jefferson or Adams would say if you could bring them back today and see what America has turned into?! How many times have these guys turned over and over in their graves?! Can you imagine having Washington adress the nation now... i would love to see him put the current administration slapped by a good ol' washington speech!

Anyways, thought it was cool, check it out

Im afraid if there were alive in this day they would be killed anyway for having their own unique beliefs. Thats what tends to happen when you are not one of the sheep, ya know?

United we stand divided we fall. When have humans ever been united?

2 common quotations come to mind:

A house divided against itself cannot stand

Divide and Conquer

I'd rather have Abraham Lincoln or Thomas Jefferson scold our politicians than George Washington. That would be so awesome to watch

The Founding Fathers also warned us of entangling alliances and the separation of church and state.

Have we listened?

This reminds me of something jfk said, something along the lines of. A general knowledge must be kept among the public to preserve liberty, or something along those lines, correct me if im wrong. And the majority of Americans don't know anything, im not being rude, im serious as all hell.

"Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people.”

Sadly, this is what is happening in America today. When I was in high school, and even now in college, I'm shocked by the ignorance around me. People with 4.0 GPA's and perfect test scores don't even know what 1776 represents or who we won our independence from.

Another quote:

“Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”

The two-party system developed in the 1790s because you had the pro-Administration faction of the House and Senate which supported the policies of the Washington Administration and an anti-Administration faction which opposed those policies. Eventually organization was developing due to the influence and money power of newspapers in the time.

Editors of papers who supported Washington, Adams, Clinton, and Hamilton were pro-Administration mostly centered in the Northeastern United States. These men became the Federalist Party thanks to the craftiness of Alexander Hamilton. It was the party of merchants, judges, university educated, pietistic protestants and the wealthy mostly concentrated in the North. They sought to limit the influence of popular democracy in favor of more centralized government placing power in the judiciary and legislature while strongly detesting a strong executive.

Those who favored Monroe and Jefferson were anti-Administration mostly centered in the Southern United States. They became Democratic-Republicans because of the political weight that Jefferson held. It was made up of yeoman farmers, political radicals, Franco-philes, and liturgical Christians. These people sought a stronger executive, were more pro-war and pro-expansion, generally defended or refused to oppose slavery, and were staunchly populist while opposing expansion of central government, infrastructure, ports, and import tariffs.

But the real division between Americans which created the two-party system was that our core ideas which our debates were framed could only result in two different positions. States' rights v. Federalism, Tariffs v. Free Trade, Executive v. Legislature, Industrialization v. Agrarianism, pro-Britain v. pro-France, and Interventionism v. Isolationism. Yet it was mostly shaped around the nation's two competing culture; Yankee v. Southern. The North was fiercely abolitionist and free soil when the movements arose while the South fought to maintain their right to keep and expand slavery westward.

What it all boils down to is that our two-party system was created out of the competing cultures and the respective interests.

I'd take any.. but your right. I find Jefferson to be one of the most outspoken about American values and the reason for having the constitution... I bet he would spend days and days weeping if you could bring him back to see what has happened to his beloved country

Good Lord. Surprisingly....I'm not surprised.

"Where is KFC from?"
"No Idea"
"Do you know what KFC stands for?"
"Kentucky Fried Chicken?"

How can we expect to listen to our Founding Fathers if we don't even know what they founded?
