This is a surprise to anyone? I'm sure that bin Laden (if he's still alive) calls for the destruction of the U.S., U.K., European Union in general, Israel, the Saudi royal family, the President of Pakistan, and anyone else he doesn't like on a daily basis..

bin laden does NOT call on the destruction on us or any other nation every day over a web site that is lagit. quit listing to what michale moore says about the government scaring us and so on.

Isn't the Khan mentioned in the original article above the "nuclear father of Pakistan". His name just seems too familiar. I'd look it up, but it's 5 am here, and I hafta leave for work. If I find out, I'll come back to edit this or something.

No kidding, Al CIAda...hahaha so true!

No he's just a front and the "take the fall" guy for things our gov't has planned. True it may be hard to prove, but none the less I don't believe he's behind it all.

I can't imagine any terrorist group seriously going after Bush.

They (terrorists) have agendas. It appears to me if the destabilizing or changing of America or its foreign policy are in their game plan Bush would be the last person they would want to get rid of.

On the other hand, the appearance of an assassination makes good press.
Watch for some political rhetoric from the administration on this.

George Wallace:We will not surrender.
Within weeks he allowed federal troops! Matter of record, he asked for them!
Wallace asks for federal troops

That night, George Wallace double-crossed President Johnson. The governor went on statewide television demanding that Johnson send in federal troops to maintain law and order during King's march.

the president sent federal troops to Alabama. Reverend King's massive protest march began on Sunday, March 21. For five days, hundreds - and then thousands - of people walked from Selma to Montgomery. They were guarded all the way by Alabama State Troopers and federal soldiers.

thanks deeprivergal.
but how come Bin Laden suddenly has internet access? and why didn't he just send out a recorded message or video like he has done in the past so often? I think either would brought more attention and made it more credible. it's seems fishy this website announcement, I don't believe it has any credence.

The report also states that it would be unlikely for Bin Laden to use the internet. Just thought I would chime in here with that

no offence deeprivergal, i know you're just covering a story, but this is the problem i have with this type of news. No real evidence, something very unlikely, but yet it's out there to instill fear into people. Why is this being done if the sole reason isn't fear mongering or to draw support for the war on terror? This stuff shouldn't even be on the news.

Yes it does instill fear and it should. I don't think news stories should have people running through the streets screaming "THE SKY IS FALLING" However if you remember after 9/11 and the rumor got out about how Bush knew and he never said anything. Everyone was furious, the fact that if he knew, he could have warned people.

People complain that the government doesn't tell us anything, but then when they do, people complain. So it's a lose lose situation. I understand where you are coming from and I agree with you somewhat, however I, for one. Want to be educated and informed when something happens that could affect me or the my family. I would rather be able to be cautious and aware, then be in the dark.

I don't make the news. I just report what I find.

No kidding, posting this "news" story in every forum is spreading the panic. Kind of like those internet forwards about "TERROR WARNING ON SUCH AND SUCH DATE" -- tis pointless and furthermore up on my list with spam e-mail.

And COME ON...everytime I feel pissed off, I am going to post on a website about how I live in a freaking cave somewhere in BFE but I am going to bomb the hell out of a country 5000 miles away. Righty-O.

These articles do nothing but further the agenda of our politicians and further set Americans and the rest of the world against muslims and people of arabic descent. Try NOT spreading this crap to every forum on here, please.

Here's a thought. You see the title of the article you don't like the subject, then don't read it. I am sorry if you don't like the "news," however there are some people who like to be aware of these things.

And where is the panic? I don't see anyone freaking out. I don't see anyone sceaming, "THE END IS NEIGH!" Do you see that? I haven't seen one post on that. I haven't heard any reports of people freaking out. Am I missing something? Are YOU freaking out?

You posted it in every forum. That is flat out annoying, so I'm going to comment on it.

I don't freak out about smoke and mirrors, honey. I'll leave that to the people who still think it's just Bin Laden.

High priority news stories are posted AUTOMATICALLY in every forum. That was not the doing of the poster, but of the system.
Also, these news threads are not for people to make personally directed comments. That is what u2u is for, so if you feel inclined to complain to a member, do it directly.

How did this turn nasty
I am making a comment about the story and news itself, not your choice to cover it or even why it's on ATSNN but why it is in the news with no real evidence of what they are allegating.

I don't think this is about the govt telling us or not telling us about a threat, and this aspect doesn't add anything credible that would alert or save anyone's life. As many has stated before me, Bin Laden has been calling for Attacks on America since before 9/11 and if he is alive he is doing it everyday, so again how is "Bin Laden Calls for Attacks" news.

Deeprivergal, i am not expecting you to take up a personal battle for this story, and again it is not meant as criticism towards you, it is a criticism of the original story that made it to the media that you sourced.
