Hello Everyone, It's been a while since I was last at the site.

I thought I would post something for us to think about, it goes along with the post found here:www.abovetopsecret.com...

I would have posted under that thread, but it went a little off topic, so here goes.

I am sure we are all aware of the eys in the sky. Cameras capturing peoples movements in metropolitan areas. Well I noticed recently another form of "monitoring" that may be done, and it never dawned on me that, it WAS Being done.

In my city we have a TransGuide System. basically it's suppose to give city managers and staff the ability to monitor traffic, and to make the proper adjustments to warning systems and the like, to control traffic flow (or lack there of). Anyway, Recently I seen where there was a fire in the city, a pretty big one, and no news camera crew had arrived yet, the local news was able to show live pictures of the blaze, by using the Transguide system.

The freaky part was, this particular Highway, that the shot was taken from was miles away from the Fire, and the shot was clear as day. They were zooming in as the scene was being shot, and it was amazing how much clarity and defintion that camera captured.

Of course this lead me to beleieve these cameras have dual purposes, they are usually posted high atop some structure on the highway, but they rotate, pan, zoom (really good), and everything else you can imagine. So, if you have know cameras on your streets watching you, that doesn't mean the cameras on the highways aren't.

Thats vary freeky. I never could of amagined that a camera would provide that much of a view of the the area. Now that I think of it, A camera like this would be a vary good to look into area 51 with...

Interesting.

Not to take away from the fact that these cameras are watching, but is it possible there was a closer camera to the incident? These cameras are everywhere in my hometown. I see them at every intersection and on our highways. I make it a point to greet them with a one-finger salute. I'm surprised that I haven't received any warnings or citations in the mail.

Edited to add: The capabilities of these cameras really wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah Spittin, just like that.

Bangin, there were no cameras closer. They showed the whole thing while zooming in on the fire, as if to say "hey look where doing this from the highway". It was one of those, Oh, $7it moments.

Cross, you are right, wonder if the technology is available to the public. I mean the way this thing zoomed in, it was like getting a clear picture of the street address on te outside of the building. Had to be miles away.

They use them arond where I am too. They even broadcast the signals on tv for traffic reports. NOt just short reports, but long broadcasts of the whats going on on the highways, switching from one camera to the next

Why, merely because they are good cameras. Jeez, is it so crazy to think that state and county officials did a good job and bought good cameras rather than cheap junky ones. Oh, wait, it kind of is, isn't it.

Do you know how much they weigh and sell for? I would just love to get my hands on one, it would be good to record pictures of the transport from Janet landing at the airport public airport. I'd love to identify some of the workers.

Partiallty because they have good cameras, the other reason is because... I don't put nothing past the gov't.

It's obvious these cameras have dual purposes, as this one was being used to capture footage from a wharehouse fire, miles away from the highway.

What exactly are you getting at? They might spy on you in public while your eating a sandwich?
