Was at Daytona Coke Zero 400 on July 2
After the race we were in the parking area (aerospace industrial park) across from the track hanging out waiting for the traffic to thin out before we would leave.
We were watching the planes take off from the Daytona Airport to our North,(probably race car drivers and owners)
At 12:18am an object that looked like a bright flame orange color like it was burning was flying towards us in a North East direction,( no airport runways are in that direction, it was the size of a half dollar from our view and distance upwards. When it was over head I could have swore I saw a little flame piece fly off so at that time I thought it was a Chinese lantern, however it was moving faster than I would think a lantern would travel, and was moving in a liner NE direction, but what do I know.
As we were standing in the parking lot, I went to get my camera from the front seat of the car but by the time I got the camera, less than 10 seconds, the object became a dull white in color, the color of most of the stars and was moving out of our site. I did point the camera on video mode towards the sky at that time and all I got was black because the camera would pick up the faint object by then.

In no way do I think this was extra ordinary, but it gave us something to talk about for 5 minutes.
I'm sorry to say I still do not believe in UFO's.
If I can find my camera cord I'll up the black sky with our 10 second conversation. LOL
The object seems to fit what others may have seen, but like I said, it really wasn't worth more than a 5 minute discussion.

Soooo, are you saying that unidentified flying objects do not exist? Really? I see crap in the sky from time to time that I can't identify, some were years ago, and I don't have to "believe" in it because I KNOW that I can't identify it, no faith required.

Just what is there to "believe" in? If someone see's an object and they don't know what it is, it is a UFO - what is there to believe in? This isn't a theology, philosophy or a religion. It is the study of an unknown phenomena. Using belief in UFO research is counterproductive.

Not picking on you per se, just that the flippant use of certain words in this area of study really grind my gears, pardon the Family Guy parlance... giggidy.

Some people do make it a religion, some go to extremes in their belief in Alien UFO's.
You may not make it a religion and good for you, but some do.
If anyone should grind your gears those people should since they do a disservice more than a guy saying he doesn't believe in Alien UFO's.

Plus, just because I don't believe in Alien UFO's doesn't mean I am not interested in UFO's.
I just have to see one for myself and it will have to be an extra ordinary detailed sighting not some orange fire looking glowing object flying over head.

It is possible, as I thought that myself.

However, again I put forth the region I was in. Those who know the area well would agree with me on that point. I even mentioned it to a co-worker and mentioned the lantern thing. They laghed at the idea of more than a handful of people there knowing what that was.

The first thing im going to predict is some idiot who says its a firework....ive seen alot of fireworks/sattelites/ufos and i assure you, theres no such thing as a red sattelite, IMO, and i dont even have to explain myself why its not a firework.

Well it was going south west, very bright, first i thought it was a plane on fire it was so bright/big. I looked through my good binoculars, and saw just a red circle T looking thing, couldnt really make it out since i was shaking the boniculars, but it was red, very red, and after a while it starting to turn to go north, PLEASE REPLY!

Could you please describe a bit more, about the "red circle T" shape. Did the object appear to have plasma flames, licking all around it? Which direction was the wind blowing at the time of the UFO incident?

I can't say for sure, but it could have been a foofighter; giving off it's own version of a July 4th light show.

Let's all hope, it is a start of a major UFO flap, here in the United States.

They are about 6 hours away from here. What they say and explain the light did is exactly what I was saying in my first post in this thread.

Thanks for the video.

The video shown by Raist is certainly a lantern, although the lady's voice seems to be the same person in the video Venoms found, who seems to be the OP here.

only thing I can think of, is that Venon's video, which was reported on by TV, and very short, looks like it's been taken off a monitor, or TV screen at close range, or is something different altogether.

I know what you're saying about the area. My mom lives in rural MO. People down there are not a Chinese lantern type of folks. I'm in IL and my son and I saw the same thing July 3rd and 4th. We thought it was a firework at first, but our minds changed quickly as it got overhead. It didn't behave like a firework and I don't think it was a lantern either, as I saw the underside. It appeared to be a diamond shaped flame of some sort. I saw absolutely no outer balloon type structure whatsoever. It was orange and it traveled a straight path the first night and the second night, it traveled straight, then made a sharp right turn, traveled straight a short distance and made another sharp right. It then traveled straight south until it was out of sight. No noise, no flashing.
