I couldn't help but notice whilst browsing on forbidden planet recently that the V for Vendetta mask's were the best sellers.

Is this an early sign of things to come?

Imagine if the finale of the film was played out in front of parliment...or even better....THE BANKS!

Hate to burst your bubble, but this "revolution" isnt going to happen while people are living in some romantic hollywood fairy tale.

Sorry kiddies, thats fiction, in actual revolution people die, friends, family all at risk. In real life, the soldiers open fire!

Want to know what a revolution looks like? Go to youtube & search for libya or any of the other country where people are being butchered daily. (assuming they havent removed them all already)

But im sure everybody knows this already, Hence, NO REVOLUTION. Cant be risking our own little piles of table scraps can we?

Nobody said it was going to, nobody said their is a revolution ongoing at the moment, all I was doing is making an observation, and I can't help but wonder how many people have got these masks, and how many would use them when the time is right.

I believe their will be a revolution in England & America, and I believe sooner rather than later (maybe Summer 2012 in England, thats when people will finally realise they have nothing left to lose?)

And I also agree its not going to be pretty and people will die... but a dawning of a new "people's" age where governments DO actually listen to the people and not take us to wars...well surerly thats worth dying for. People choose to join the military everyday, and many of them die. So I truely believe people will die for their families.

The power of a symbol.

Many of you would pre-counter these ideas with yawn-fulfilling diatribes about the irony of a corporate entity and affiliation with a mass produced entity being a symbol of rebellion.

I, on the other hand think it's a fine idea.

If the corporations and dictators want us to be faceless, consumers - then I say let's overwhelm them with sheer numbers, dance in the shadows but aim for the light.

Corporations will fall, through their own creations

The masks were purchased in support of a website that "cool kids" visit.

Its a 4chan thing.

They "majority" use them to sit on webcams and act "4chanish"...not to march the capital or do anything revolutionary.

Its for the Lulz, not for the revolution.

But can we be sure people are buying them for 4chanish? Unless theirs facts or figures its still all speculation. (Thats on my behalf too).

..This wont happen (unfortunatly) but I wonder what would happen if someone really did go out and purchase/create these masks, and realsed them too the masses with proof of the shocking things our goverments have done. Would they still sit and watch x-factor? lol

Yes...we can. Sadly.

Many years before the V movie a man once tried to do just that. He gathered about 500 men and women, making them masks freely and with good intent. He tried. Funny thing was, he was influenced by V for Vendetta the comic book many years before it was a movie.

It was fun....so I hear.

Unfortunately the world didn't change then either.

Lets just hope the channers can muster up some positive action and stop shooting just for Lulz. They have my best wishes and hope. As all good Masked folks do.
