An artist who's recently let my work go

I'm a musician who's been in the music game commercially since 2007, I've done some work for sci-fi shows but mostly I just do my own thing.. I've played along with the music industry for a long time and I always felt self entitled ...I took pride in my work and I had an arrogance about that.. but times have changed..

I call on all musicians to scale back.. I've been screwed by the industries I supported.. and we shouldn't allow that to happen.. I've made the decision to release ALL of my music free of charge... I have 2 more albums yet to post, but much of my work is already up and a click away from download... no cost, no ads.. no catch..

I call on other musicians to follow suit.. and if you want my help as a programmer, or a musician... I'm yours... lets push this.. music wants to be free.. we need to only be paid if we make something someone loves.. there's too much crap out there ...

I want to add, that at my expense I've put up FULL quality mp3 players for EVERY track... I'm not skimping on any level ... and nobody should..

And mods.. this is not self promotion while it might seem like it.. I have no commercial interest.. and I'm actually working with one your "live" contributors on a sound track... I have no motivations.. just a message.

I think you are on to something. I hope many in the industry will follow your example.

I do! .. classically trained pianist and I play guitar and drums, otherwise I bring in others.. and even on guitar work I call on others often enough. My work requires professionals and I only fill in where I can't make things as they need to be done...

My strong suit is synth and electronic music.. but my second is drums..

I never learned to read music per say..

I just go with how i feel when i play....

and i play really good...

I love it!

I'd love to see this turned into a share point .. or Q&A .. I want to see more musicians sharing .. or learning

We should unite and make an ATS anthem you're more experienced than me by definition.. 30 years ago I would be 3 .. but passion for music is what it is..thanks for writing .. share a link if you have one

It's great work, you have a good ear for bass ... bass is hugely important ... PM me if you want to collab remotely on something

I work .. I don't think music should be about corporate politics.. it should be a passion.. much like painting ... if someone is in it for the money they are going to create junk ... that's my thought..

Lets bring back proper motivation... my model? download it.. like it or or don't.. if you wanna pay me something.. great, if not.. whatever... I earn what I earn.. my time becomes more important then.

I am also an artist with paints..

I feel the same way about the industry. I often wish one could work as a songwriter and just make an average living. If you take away the big money and the idol worship and all of that, then you would have only musicians creating music for the love of the art rather than for fame and fortune. I'm always game to work with other musicians. Here is one of my tunes, although, I do various different genres, so this isn't representative of everything I do. I played all the instruments on this one aside from the drums which my brother did.
