New Leonardo Da Vinci Painting To Be Made Public

A lost work by Leonardo da Vinci has been found in a private American collection. The painting " Salvator Mundi," (below) which shows Christ raising his hand in blessing, will be unveiled a the National Gallery in London later this year.

"Salvator Mundi" has been authenticated by experts as the missing Leonardo painting once owned by Charles I and Charles II. The painting was known to exist due to documentation and a 1750's engraving by Wenceslaus Hollar. The last important Leonardo discovery was a hundred years ago.

... the work is speculated to be worth around $200 million.

Who is paying $200 million for a painting?

I thought I would post this here because it is kind of a big deal. To find another Da Vinci with the amount of speculation and "codes" in his painting might just add another piece to the puzzle. It will be interesting to see if any new "codes" or hidden messages will be found in this painting.

Not a big fan of the painting myself, the fact that it religious turns me off a bit.

Any thoughts?

This one is creepy, IMO. Jesus looks like a drugged-out girl with a fake mustache.

Why not buy works of art. the dollar is worthless at .09 a bill how much is really spent

It's an x-ray of the painting. They do that in these cases to see if there was another painting painted over.

Actually now that I look closely at the link of the 'other' painting...I think they are actually the same one. One's just in Black and White....Look closely at the two side by side....I'm fairly certain they are identical.

WOW! this is amazing i am playing assassin’s creed 2 right now and i have been unlocking subject 16′s hidden files and seen the apple of eden in a lot of paintings. This is also very strange because lenardo da vinci also has alot to do with this game. Also notice jesus’s fingers in this painting they seem to be making some kind of symbol or a sign but I’m not sure what it means. I have seen this hand sign in many other famous paintings. Where did they find this new painting and why did people in the past try destroying it? This is too weird and its freaking me out I'm gonna have to do some more research on this.
