Hi ATS,

Was going through the BBC iPlayer website and came across this new documentary about the unlikely survival of Homo sapiens. Our ancestors and Homo erectus first met after a super-volcanic eruption 75,000 years ago in India.

I think it is a fantastic documentary, so I seriously urge you to watch it and give your opinion.

There is also a second episode which is on BBC iPlayer but not Youtube. The second episode is set 35,000 years ago and depicts Homo sapiens's encounter with Homo neanderthalensis. As the ice caps retreated, the Neanderthal stronghold in Europe weakened, providing a window of opportunity to which modern humans owe their existence.
